English is the most common language. 87% of people in the 2016 census said they spoke English as a first language. About 20% of the population have another first language. You’ll hear Cantonese, Mandarin, and Punjabi too.
Traffic can get pretty snarled up. Many choose the public transit system to get about. You’ll find people who say it could be better. But, It covers 1200km of road, track and tunnel and so gets you where you need to be.
Toronto gets the four full seasons, and the locals like to make the most of each. Get outside in the spring and summer, it’s mild and pleasant. Take it easy in the summer, it’s hot and humid.
