Kim from South Africa

“What I loved about Beyond Academy and why I choose them is because they are more flexible and more individually tailored to what each person is looking for, rather than just a generalised experience. My group and the entire Beyond community has been really welcoming. I am so lucky to be able to have this experience with people that are similar, as in we are all looking to grow personally, grow professionally and also just enjoy every moment. Everyone here has left behind the familiar and has come to the unfamiliar which can be scary, but when you have a community as good as this, it’s not scary at all.”

Hannah from the United States
PR & Journalism Intern, London Immersive Program

“I choose Beyond Academy because I really liked the chance to have both a travel experience and at the same time get some work experience. My favourite thing about Beyond Academy has been the opportunity to really dive into London, and at the same time you have the support beyond so you don’t feel alone in this whole experience.”

A Professional Architecture Internship

With start dates every month, and a duration of between one and six months, you can choose an internship program that works for you.

In London, you’ll gain top industry experience in the architectural sector. A multicultural crossroads of nations and continents, you’ll find the opportunity to make global links here. As well as draw inspiration from a multiplicity of styles and perspectives.

British work culture is unique, and probably a bit different to what you’re expecting; but that’s all part of the fun! Brits may have something of an international reputation for boorishness, but when it comes to business it couldn’t be further from the truth. The British are courteous and diplomatic at all times; and they regularly rely on ironic humor to break the ice or build informal relationships quickly. You’ll also attend plenty of pub lunches or after-work drinks – these are great ways to relax and get to know your colleagues!

You’ll never be short of things to see and do in London. There are more world-famous museums and galleries than you can shake a stick at, as well as countless iconic landmarks and buildings like Big Ben and The Gherkin. The convenient public transport network makes it easy to get around; the Underground, red double-decker buses and black cabs are all great ways to travel.

Immersive workshop

We carefully structure our skills workshop to boost your personal and professional development.

Under the guidance of professional coaches and speakers, you’ll undergo exercises in existing skills; and you might well learn some new ones too.

A typical workshop will include interactive lessons on communication, problem solving, and leadership. You’ll leave empowered to apply your new skills to your internship.

Career coaching & support

In your 1-to-1 coaching session, you’ll look back at your career so far and consider your next steps. Alongside a professional coach, you’ll gain a new perspective on your options and finish your session newly invigorated to succeed.

Of course, you’ll have a packed diary of meetings, trips, dinners and networking events; so you can schedule this session at the best time for you.

Some interns opt for an appointment early on in their course. That’s a good way of maximizing your time in London and preparing for the weeks ahead. Alternatively, if you take your session half-way through your course you can evenly split your discussion; you’ll consider your achievements so far while making any adjustments for your remaining weeks.

And if you’d prefer, a session in the final days of your internship is a great time to analyze your performance throughout, as well as plan ahead for your next steps.

At any time during your internship, you’ll also have access to personalized career advice and interview tips. From advice on getting your CV and LinkedIn page up to scratch; to helping you prepare a professional portfolio, we’ve got you covered.

You can boost your development and employability by accessing our range of online resources.

A few examples of the support we provide includes:
