Beyonders Share Their Experience on Our Program

“What I loved about Beyond Academy and why I choose them is because they are more flexible and more individually tailored to what each person is looking for, rather than just a generalised experience. My group and the entire Beyond community has been really welcoming. I am so lucky to be able to have this experience with people that are similar, as in we are all looking to grow personally, grow professionally and also just enjoy every moment. Everyone here has left behind the familiar and has come to the unfamiliar which can be scary, but when you have a community as good as this, it’s not scary at all.”

Weeks 3 & 4

It’s week three, and you’re reaching the mid-point of your internship. By now, you’ve developed your technical skills impressively; that might include setting up the perfect shot or perfecting your Photoshop abilities. And you’re adept at fulfilling client requests, producing designs, logos and branding to detailed specifications. Now, you’ll want to take some time out with your manager to discuss what you’ve learned.

You’ve been just about keeping on top of things these last few weeks, but you deserve some down-time. Head out to a community dinner and see how your friends are getting on; snack on some authentic German or international food as you chat.

You’ll have made a few industry connections already by this point; we’re going to help you make some more. Head along to a networking session and meet top leaders in your industry; the right conversation can lead to wonderful things.

It’s time for your second tour. Stroll through the heart of Berlin, taking in some of the city’s most interesting art. Enjoy some old classics and new compositions, sampling a veritable feast of German street food in the meantime.

Your internship is nearing its end; review what you’ve achieved with your 1-to-1 career session. What have you gained in the city, and what could have gone better? Finish your meeting by considering the career opportunities that await you when you return home.

Now, get ready for one final trip. Cap off your cultural immersion with a visit to the Clärchens Ballhaus; enjoy music and dancing in one of the last remaining 20th century ballrooms!

Before you go, you’ve got one last item on the agenda: your farewell dinner. Put on your best clothes and meet up with your community for one last time; there’s no better way of finishing off your time here.

In your remaining free time before you’re due to fly out, you’ll want to make the most of Berlin. Head out to Spreepark, a derelict amusement park; or take some time to relax in Liquidrom, a futuristic spa!
