It’s been months of anticipation, but as your plane dips down over the golden beaches of Sydney, you know you’ve finally made it. An extraordinary adventure lies ahead of you.
Begin by meeting us at the airport; from there, we’ll take you to your new digs for the next few weeks. Your choices begin when we drop you off; you can either get some shut-eye after a long flight, or drop your things and start exploring the city.
Either way, join us on your second day for your welcome orientation. This is your time to get familiar with your internship; make sure to ask any questions you might have. In the evening, you’ll head out and meet your new friends. Settle in over some delicious Australian food!
On your first day of work, introduce yourself to your colleagues and then dive straight in. You’re here to learn, so draw on their knowledge while developing your own industry insight. Your co-workers are keen to see you succeed!
You’ll soon find yourself challenged by your workload, so why not attend our workshop? It’s a great place to develop your skills, all with the aid of coaches and speakers. You’ll leave this session ready to apply what you’ve learned to your internship.
It’s already time for the first of your exciting trips. Make the journey out to the Blue Mountains, an area of unparalleled natural beauty. Immerse yourself in the iconic blue haze as you explore as much of this expansive region as you can.
By week three, your internship is coming along nicely. Drawing inspiration from your colleagues, you’ve developed your artistic abilities considerably; including a few technical skills and techniques. And you’ve soon mastered your firm’s selection of industry software, from Photoshop to bespoke programs. Take some time out with your manager and chat about your progress.
After a busy couple of weeks, you’ll be looking to unwind; join your friends for a delicious community dinner. Try one of Sydney’s many international restaurants as you chat the night away!
Networking is key to career progression in any profession; especially if you’re looking to go freelance in the future. Accept an invite to a top industry session; you might just meet your next boss here.
Next up, you’re about to embark upon your second trip. Welcome to the Sydney Opera House, one of the most famous icons in the world. Take in a fantastic show, then enjoy some dinner and drinks.
You can’t quite believe it, but your internship is nearing its end. If you haven’t already, begin drawing things to a close by organizing your 1-to-1 career session. With the aid of a professional coach, use this time to review your almost-completed program. What have you achieved, and what could you have done better?
You’ve been fully immersed within Sydney; so it’s fitting to cap off your three trips with a deep dive into the heart of the city’s food scene. Sample delicious cuisine from all over the world as you discover some fantastic hotspots.
It’s finally time for your last event; your farewell dinner. There will be laughter and tears as you meet up with your friends and say goodbye. Pledge to stay in touch before you go.
Make as much out of your free time in your final few days as you can. Head to a Glebe Market and pick up a few weird and wonderful bargains; or kayak over to the (allegedly) haunted Q-Station, if you dare!
