Take a trip out to the picturesque city of Potsdam. Experience rich culture as you explore grand palaces and royal parks. From Neuer Garten to Babelsberg and Sanssouci, there’s centuries of history to discover. Then head out to the Dutch Quarter, where you’ll find the largest number of Dutch-style houses outside the Netherlands. Lovingly restored, today they house boutique shops, cafes, and more!
A world cultural capital, Berlin is known for its diverse collection of art. Take a walking tour through the heart of the city as you encounter a mixture of classical and contemporary artists. Explore Berlin’s panoply of museums and art galleries as you soak up the city’s unique atmosphere; and enjoy a sumptuous selection of street food as you go, from schnitzel to saumagen!
Berlin’s very own melting pot, enjoy a night at the Clärchens Ballhaus. Here, you’ll find all sorts coming together to dance the night away. Revellers young and old come together to enjoy cocktails, food and a range of music; join them as you experience this authentic portal back to Berlin’s Golden Twenties.
You’ll be eager to find out more about life as a Business intern; so we’ve put together this snapshot of a typical 6-week Berlin internship.
After so much anticipation and excitement, you’ve finally made it to Berlin. This historic city has so much in store for you; begin your adventure by joining us at the airport. From there, we’ll take you to your new accommodation. When we drop you off, you can either put your things down and head out to start exploring; or get some rest after a long flight. The choice is yours.
Join us on day two for your orientation. We’ll familiarize you with your internship before it begins; and in the evening, you’ll head out to your first community dinner. Try some fantastic German food as you get to know your fellow interns; by the end of your time here, you’ll be the closest of friends.
Turn up promptly on your first day of work. Get a sense of your tasks and responsibilities, then get stuck in. Use this time to soak up the insight and knowledge of your colleagues; they’re here to help you succeed, so make the most of it. But your internship will pose plenty of new challenges; why not take a skills workshop? Apply what you’ve learned to get the most out of your program.
Now, it’s time to get ready for your first exciting day trip. Welcome to Potsdam, home to grand palaces and immaculate green spaces; immerse yourself in history as you enjoy this scenic city.
By week three, things are progressing smoothly. From analyzing market fluctuations to assisting senior colleagues as they meet with clients and stakeholders, you’re gaining good transferable experience for your future career. At this point, you might want to meet up with your manager to chat about what you’ve learned.
After a busy few weeks, you’re looking to relax. Join your friends for a community dinner; sample some fine German cuisine, or one of the city’s many international restaurants, as you chat the night away.
Networking is key to a successful career in business; so now it’s time for you to pick up a few contacts of your own. Head out to a professional industry event to get to know some business executives. Impress the right person and good things may come of it.
Next up, it’s your second tour. Immerse yourself in Berlin’s glorious cultural scene; from the classic to the contemporary, Berlin has it all. Snack on a selection of delicious street food while you explore.
Your program is nearing its end, and you’re looking to reflect on what you’ve gained. Schedule your 1-to-1 career session as you review your progress, all with professional insight. Before you go, consider what comes next.
Cap off your cultural experience with one final trip. Take a visit to the Clärchens Ballhaus, an icon of the 20th century. Enjoy music, cocktails and dancing!
All good things must come to an end, and so you’ve got one final event on the agenda: your farewell meal. Meet up with your friends for one last time as you look back on your experiences together. Pledge to stay in touch, then say goodbye. And before you’re due to fly out, make sure to make the most out of Berlin. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and other young professionals. It’s a great way to build your own community, especially if you’re traveling from abroad.
You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed somewhere with access to public transport. Depending on where your firm is, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
We’ll confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your Business internship begins. This is due to the demand for short-term accommodation and ever-changing availability.
