All your careful planning has led to this. Now, you’re touching down under the sunny skies of Sydney. Congratulations; this is your first step in the adventure of a lifetime. Join us at the airport as we take you straight to your awaiting accommodation. What you do with the rest of your first day is up to you; either get some sleep or head straight out and start exploring Sydney.
On day two, you’ll join us for your orientation. This is your chance to get to know Sydney, as well as the work you’ll be doing. Later, you’ll meet your new community for the first time. You’ll soon be the closest of friends, and this is where it all starts.
On your first day of work, turn up promptly and make a good first impression on your team. Your colleagues are here to help you succeed, so ask as many questions as you need to and get stuck in. Draw on their insight and experience to develop your own skills.
Throughout your internship, you’ll find yourself challenged by new tasks and experiences. Prepare yourself with our fantastic skills workshop; here, you’ll work closely with coaches and speakers to boost your abilities for the weeks ahead.
Next, it’s time for the first of your exciting day trips. Head out to the hazy mirage of the Blue Mountains, a beautiful nearby region. Follow a guide and see as much of it as you can.
It’s week three, and you’ve found that you’re really getting into the swing of things. Shadowing your senior colleagues, you’ve seen plenty already; including meetings with key clients or shareholders. You’ve even taken the lead once or twice yourself. And you’re gaining confidence in blue-sky thinking, generating new ideas to help your business grow. So why not take some time out with your manager and chat about your progress?
After a busy few weeks, it’s time to kick back at a community dinner. Try something new, or go for something classically Australian, as you meet up with your friends. Swap stories with your community, then take the ferry home!
You’ll have met a few of your fellow professionals already; we’ll help you build up your burgeoning list of contacts by sending an invite to a top networking session. Get to know the top minds in your industry; it might just change the direction of your career.
Now, get ready for your second trip. Immerse yourself in a world-famous icon as you enjoy a night on the town at the Sydney Opera House. Cap off your evening with a fantastic dinner.
As your internship nears its end, take some time out with a professional coach to consider what you’ve achieved. What went well and what could have gone better? Finish off your chat by casting your mind out to the future; what do you want to do next?
There’s no better way of concluding your three trips with an immersive deep-dive into Sydney’s culinary scene. From Australian delights to international imports, try as much as you can!
Now, put on your best clothes and get ready for one last evening with your community. Reminisce over your favorite memories together, then say goodbye. And before you’re due to fly out, make as much out of Sydney as you can. Take in the view of the city from Sydney Harbor Bridge; or head to Wendy’s Secret Garden, built over an abandoned train yard!

You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and other young professionals. It’s a great way to build your own community, especially if you’re traveling from abroad.
You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed somewhere with access to public transport. Depending on where your firm is, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
We’ll confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your Business internship begins. This is due to the demand for short-term accommodation and ever-changing availability.
