Our skills workshop is a great way to boost your personal & career development, and more importantly, your employability.
Under the guidance of qualified coaches and speakers, you’ll undertake exercises in skills like communication and leadership.
You’ll leave this workshop ready to apply your new knowledge to your Charities & NGO internship; as well as your future endeavours.
Use this personalized 1-to-1 session to reflect on your career. Work with a career coach to consider your strengths and weaknesses. Learn about yourself and your aspirations then use this knowledge to create goals to work towards.
Your diary will be packed full of trips, social events, business meetings and dinners. So you can pencil in this appointment at a time that works for you.
Some interns prefer an early session in order to thoroughly prepare for the weeks ahead. Others take a session halfway through their time in Seoul. This can be a good way to look back on your progress so far, while accounting for the rest of your internship.
But if it suits you, a late appointment is a great way to finish off your internship. Think about your program successes and plan the next steps to move closer to your desired future career.

We’ll keep track of the latest industry networking events so keep an eye out for your invitation. Head along to a professional charity or NGO sector event and introduce yourself to top charity leaders! Get to know how your industry works from insiders as you meet and greet like-minded people.
Andong Hahoe village showcases the amazing rich history of Korea. You’ll be immersed in traditional houses, shrines, museums and mask dance. With so much culture on offer, make sure you leave time for food. If weather conditions are unfavorable, fret not, we’ll take you on a temple stay experience for you to fully immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture!
The rich traditions around the way Korean food is prepared, cooked, and eaten means you’ll have plenty to experience. You’ll be enveloped in the stories of this fascinating culture while cooking with our master chef.
The Hanbok is a traditional piece of clothing that beautifully reflects the essence of Korean heritage! Let our local community experts assist you in finding the ideal Hanbok, and even help you achieve an intricate hair-do in full Korean tradition!
Throughout the duration of your program, your Seoul Community Coordinators will be by your side, providing both friendly support and a lot of enjoyable moments.
You’ll want to discover just what it’s like to work in Seoul, so we’ve put together a snapshot based on a typical 6-week Charity internship.
You’ve finally made it to Seoul. But before your adventure begins, meet us at Incheon International Airport and we’ll transport you to your new home.
Take your first day to unwind in a way that suits you. Some interns like to sleep off the jet lag and relax in their accommodation. While others head straight back out the door to start exploring their local neighborhood and discovering Seoul. Whatever you prefer, join us on day two for your welcome orientation.
Find out what awaits you in the 6 weeks ahead, what to expect, and ask us any questions you might have. Afterwards, why not grab a bite to eat and introduce yourself to your brand-new community. This might be your first official foray into South Korean cuisine. So enjoy some new dishes, meet your new friends and get to know one another!
It’s time to begin work. Navigate Seoul’s world-class public transport to head to your office and meet your colleagues. You’ll be spending a lot of time here over the next few weeks, so make a good first impression. After a packed first day, unwind at a community meet-up. Debrief with your new friends over some a few drinks. Afterwards, take a walk along the Han River before you head home to prepare for your next day at work.
Working in a busy and diverse sector, you’ll find yourself regularly challenged. Which is why the first two weeks might be a great time to take your skills workshop. Work with your career coach, and get your skills up to scratch. After your session you’ll be ready to take on whatever lies ahead of you.
Lastly, begin looking forward to the trip to Andong. From its 600-year-old houses, to the retelling of the histories of the Ryu family from the Joseon Dynasty who lived in the village, you’ll have a seriously fascinating time.
As your Charity internship progresses, you’re feeling more and more comfortable in the role. You can confidently pitch ideas for your charity’s next marketing campaign in development meetings. And you’re eager to represent your company, alongside senior staff, to new and existing clients. Head out with your manager to a nearby café and review your progress so far.
To help you develop your network of professional contacts, we’ll be hard at work searching for the latest industry events. Head along to one of these networking events and meet some top charity leaders! Make some new contacts and get to know other charity or NGO professionals before you head home to hang out with your roommates.
Next, it’s time for your second trip. This time you’ll embark on a fantastic guided tour of Seoul’s delicious food culture. From tasty local dishes to sumptuous international cuisine, you’ll learn about South Korea via food. Make sure you save some room!
You’ll be fully at home in your Internship now, so it’s a great time to look ahead.
If you’ve not done it already, make sure you fit in your 1-to-1 career coaching session. It’s a chance not many professionals get and lets you explore your dreams and ambitions. You can chat over the things you’re finding a little tougher, and set goals and plans for your future career success.

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Seoul. Mainly co-living houses, student accommodation and shared houses, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
