Upon completion of your program, we’ll confirm your alumni status with a Beyond Academy Certificate of Excellence.
It can take time to settle into a new job and city. That’s why you’ll join your Beyond Community, a group of interns all living and working in London. You’ll make fast friends as you rely on each other for support and advice.
Throughout your internship, you can rely on the 24/7 support of our local London team. They’ll have all the answers, whether you need some advice on navigating British work culture; or you’re simply looking for recommendations on the best museums in the city.
When you arrive, we’ll give you a detailed explanation of what awaits you on your program; as well as London itself.
After the orientation, our welcome lunch or dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!
You’ll be able to catch up with your community at regular lunches and dinners. Try a classic British dish or branch out and discover one of the many international cuisines available in London.
A Beyond internship isn’t just about world-class work experience. It’s also a cultural education; that’s why we’ll organise three exciting day trips. From cultural hotspots to fantastic food tours, you’ll learn some local history and culture.

With start dates every month, and lasting between one and six months, you can build your internship program to fit around your diary.
In London, you’ll gain top industry experience in the charity sector. A world capital – connecting the US, Europe, and Asia – you’ll find unparalleled global opportunity here.
You’ll love British work culture. It may be a little different to what you’re used to, but the learning experience is all part of the fun! Brits work hard by day and make sure to unwind afterwards. That means plenty of after-work drinks and dinners; here you can get to know your colleagues in an informal setting. They also love to indulge in ironic and light-hearted banter – so join in!
London is packed full of things to see and do. World-famous museums and galleries are just round the corner from all the iconic landmarks you could think of. Connecting it all is the London Underground network, which is efficient and easy to use. If you’d prefer to see the city from above, hop on a red bus or hail down a black cab to make your way around.
Our immersive skills workshop is carefully structured to hone your skill-set and boost your development.
Working with professional coaches and speakers, you’ll undertake exercises in existing skills and learn some new ones too.
A typical workshop includes sessions on communication, problem solving, and leadership. You’ll emerge from this session ready to face all the challenges that await you.
In this coaching session, you’ll consider your career so far, as well as your future prospects. Working with a professional coach, you might leave this session re-invigorated with new career options ahead of you. Or you might be even more set on your existing goals.
You’ll have a packed schedule full of meetings, networking events, trips, and socials; so pencil this appointment in at the right time for you.
Some interns take an early appointment in order to maximize their time in London. Others prefer a session in the middle of their program to reflect on their progress so far, before making adjustments for their remaining time.
Or you could take a session towards the end of your course to assess your progress and plan ahead for your future endeavours.

Take a journey to the picturesque city of Cambridge. Traditionally English, and home to the iconic university, you’ll immerse yourself in the cobbled streets and striking Gothic buildings. Hire a punt down the beautiful River Cam, or get hands-on and try a kayak! Finish off your fantastic trip with a pub dinner, or sample delicious international cuisine.
A world-famous cultural hub, the West End is home to countless iconic shows and musicals. Put on your fanciest clothes and head out for a night on the town! Take in your favourite show, then finish your night with a trip to a world-class restaurant or bar.
A multicultural haven full of different cuisines, a London food tour is a food tour like no other. Follow a guide from street market to street market, learning a bit of local history and meeting new people; all as you sample some delicious food. Why not try some Goan fish curry or Japanese teriyaki?
Throughout the program, your London Community Coordinators will be with you every step of the way, providing you with support you need, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
You’ll be excited to learn just what it’s like to intern in London, so we’ve put together a snapshot based on a typical 6-week program.
As you arrive in London, you can’t quite believe you’ve made it. Months of application and organization have led to this moment. You’re excited to see what London offers; but first, meet us at the airport and we’ll take you straight to your new home.
Use your first day to get settled. Whether that’s spending the day relaxing at home, or getting out there and exploring, is up to you! Meet us on day two for your welcome orientation. We’ll get you up to speed with what awaits you on your course – then meet your new community.
You’ll be nervous but excited to dive into your work placement, so make a start! Make a good impression on your colleagues by working hard on your first day. Afterwards, why not unwind at a community dinner? Try a tasty Indian curry, or – if the weather’s nice – grab some takeout and head outside for dinner! Afterwards, grab the Tube or catch a bus to get home.
As you navigate your charity internship, you’ll uncover brand new and exciting challenges to tackle. Many interns opt to take an early skills workshop to prepare themselves for their program. Head along, sharpen your skills, and learn some new ones too!
By now, it’s already time for your first day trip; Cambridge! Lose yourself in this enchanting, picturesque city – then finish up your day with ice creams and a delicious dinner.
As you grow more familiar with your role, you find yourself becoming more comfortable with your day-to-day tasks. Whether that’s liaising with a range of investors to secure funding; or managing a team as they get stuck in to volunteering. So head out with your manager to discuss your progress.
A bustling world city, London is packed full of opportunity. You’ll be constantly meeting new people, and you might have picked up some contact details already. To help, we’ll send an invite to a professional industry networking event. Head along and meet top leaders in the charity & NGO sector. Impress them and you never know where it might lead!
For your second trip, journey to London’s West End for an amazing theatrical experience. Take in a world-class show before finishing the evening at a nearby upmarket restaurant or bar!
Your time in London is drawing to a close, and you’re thinking back on your internship. You’ve gained new friends and contacts, as well as unbeatable transferable skills and industry experience. You can’t quite believe you’ve packed so much into six weeks!
If you haven’t already, now is a good time to take your career session. Work with a qualified coach to assess your successes and failures over your program; and plan your next steps in order to maximize your career success.
Next, it’s time for one last trip – a food tour. Explore London’s wonderful culinary culture in the heart of the city. Following a guide, go from market to market and try everything – all while learning some fascinating local history.
You’ve got one last event to check off – your farewell dinner. Look back on your internship with your friends – celebrate your successes and look ahead to an exciting future. You’ve all grown immeasurably from the experience, and you’ll never forget it.
Before leaving London, ensure that you’ve seen and done as much as you possibly can. Whether that’s heading up the London Eye for an amazing view or taking a quirky night bus tour of the city’s sights, you won’t regret it.

We work with a range of carefully-selected accommodation partners throughout London that includes flat shares, student accommodation and co-living sites. We only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards, and all of our partners are located in commutable areas with links to the amazing transport system that London has to offer. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes. Living arrangements involve sharing space with other Beyond Interns, young professionals, and students, fostering a fantastic opportunity to integrate into the local community.
You will get a private bedroom, and most accommodation options include a private bathroom and kitchenette. Some locations include shared living spaces, lounge areas, workspaces, cafe, gym etc. All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport.
As the demand for short-term accommodation is dynamic and availability can vary, we finalize the details of your specific accommodation and location approximately 3-4 weeks before your start date.
