Andong Hahoe village showcases the amazing rich history of Korea. You’ll be immersed in traditional houses, shrines, museums and mask dance. With so much culture on offer, make sure you leave time for food. If weather conditions are unfavorable, fret not, we’ll take you on a temple stay experience for you to fully immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture!
The rich traditions around the way Korean food is prepared, cooked, and eaten means you’ll have plenty to experience. You’ll be enveloped in the stories of this fascinating culture while cooking with our master chef.
The Hanbok is a traditional piece of clothing that beautifully reflects the essence of Korean heritage! Let our local community experts assist you in finding the ideal Hanbok, and even help you achieve an intricate hair-do in full Korean tradition!

We’ve put together a snapshot of just what it’s like to intern in Seoul, based on a typical 6-week Engineering internship.
After all that excitement and anticipation, you’re finally in Seoul! Meet us in arrivals and let us take you straight to your new accommodation so you can settle in.
Use your first day to unwind in the way that best suits you; whether that’s laying low in your digs or a nearby café. Some interns even hop on public transport and explore the city straight away.
On day two, join us as we take you through your welcome orientation. Learn about your upcoming internship program, as well as everything waiting for you in Seoul. Afterwards, it’s time to meet your friends. Meet and get to know your new Beyond Community over some exquisite South Korean Food, and enjoy!
Before you know it, it’s time to dive into the world of work. Make a good first impression on your colleagues and knuckle down for a busy first day. Afterwards, meet your new friends at a Beyond community dinner. After you’ve eaten, take a walk along the Han River or grab the subway home.
Your Engineering internship will expose you to new tasks and challenges, so it’s a good idea to take an early skills workshop. Prepare for the weeks ahead as you undertake exercises in core competencies. Then, apply what you’ve learned to your internship to flourish.
Lastly, begin looking forward to the trip to Andong. From its 600-year-old houses, to the retelling of the histories of the Ryu family from the Joseon Dynasty who lived in the village, you’ll have a seriously fascinating time.
As the weeks pass, you now feel more comfortable in your role. You can draw up regular reports and sketches, and give your thoughts in team meetings. So, now might be a good time to join your manager for a coffee to review your internship so far.
Seoul is a dynamic, international city, and you’re likely to have met plenty of contacts already. To add to this, we’ll find you a professional industry networking event to attend. Head along and meet other movers and shakers in engineering. You never know where it might lead or what opportunities will arise from friendly conversation.
Soon enough, it’s time for your second trip. Fill yourself with all the food Seoul has to offer on a cooking tour. Food can reveal a lot about a nation, so learn about South Korea via its cuisine. You’re sure to pick up a few tips alongside some delicious street food too.
You’ll be fully at home in your Internship now, so it’s a great time to look ahead.

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Seoul. Mainly co-living houses, student accommodation and shared houses, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
