Kim from South Africa

“What I loved about Beyond Academy and why I choose them is because they are more flexible and more individually tailored to what each person is looking for, rather than just a generalised experience. My group and the entire Beyond community has been really welcoming. I am so lucky to be able to have this experience with people that are similar, as in we are all looking to grow personally, grow professionally and also just enjoy every moment. Everyone here has left behind the familiar and has come to the unfamiliar which can be scary, but when you have a community as good as this, it’s not scary at all.”

Hannah from the United States
PR & Journalism Intern, London Immersive Program

“I choose Beyond Academy because I really liked the chance to have both a travel experience and at the same time get some work experience. My favourite thing about Beyond Academy has been the opportunity to really dive into London, and at the same time you have the support beyond so you don’t feel alone in this whole experience.”

Grant from the Philippines

Then it’s time to get to know your colleagues. Introduce yourself to your manager and team, and dive straight in! After your busy first day, you’ll want to unwind at a community dinner. You might sample a delicious Indian curry before you hop on the Tube and make your way home.

Your internship will certainly be a constant learning experience. To make the most of it, you might want to take part in our skills workshop. With the help of coaches and speakers, you’ll improve your skill-set and impress your new colleagues!

After a busy week or two, you’ll be able to lose yourself in British culture with the first of our trips; this time, to Cambridge. For your second trip, it’s time to head down to the iconic West End for an unforgettable night. Take in an amazing show in and around Soho, and cap it off with dinner (and cocktails!) at a world-class restaurant.

Weeks 5 & 6

Your time in London will fly by. But it’s been an extraordinary experience; you’ve met new people, developed an extensive list of contacts, and gained invaluable skills.

You feel like you know everything there is to know about your industry. So now’s a good time to look back on your internship with a tailored coaching session. With a qualified coach, reflect on what you’ve learned and where you’d like to go next.

But before you go, take in London one last time. Whether that’s one last slow walk beside the Thames, soaking up the atmosphere. Or a blitz around the city on a tour bus, hitting all the major tourist spots. You won’t regret it – London is a city that will stay with you forever.
