Under the watchful eye of professional coaches and inspirational speakers, you’ll go through a range of exercises. From effective leadership to team skills and building a personal brand.
You’ll leave this session excited to take on the challenges that are waiting for you!
Take the opportunity to look back on your career so far in this 1-to-1 tailored session. Working closely with a qualified career coach, you’ll consider your strengths and weaknesses, as well as your achievements to date.
Depending on your preferences, you can pencil in this session at the best time for you. If you’re looking to get into the right mindset and set out goals for your internship, an appointment in the opening days of your program is a good idea. Or you could be looking to take stock of your progress while making adjustments for your remaining time; in which case, wait until half-way through your time in Barcelona for a more balanced session.
Lastly, you might want to use your session as a stepping stone to your next job; if so, take a late session to cap off your internship and plan ahead for the future.

Take a cultural deep-dive into the ancient city of Girona; television fans will recognize the city as a filming location from Game of Thrones! Explore everything Girona has to offer, from museums to cathedrals and ancient ruins. Then stop by the Plaça de la Independència, one of the most popular tourist spots in the city, to learn a bit of local history.
One of the cultural highlights of Spain, paella is a beloved national dish; and you’re about to learn how to make it. Head out to a local market to carefully choose your ingredients, including chicken and spicy chorizo sausage; then get to work, learning all the tips and tricks from a master chef. After so many months of preparation and planning, you’ve finally made it to Barcelona. A fantastic adventure is awaiting you, so step off the plane and meet us in arrivals. From here, we’ll take you straight to your new accommodation for the next few weeks.
Spend the rest of your first day unwinding. For some that’s simply kicking back in your room or a nearby café; for others it’s exploring your new city straight away. Whatever you choose, meet us on your second day for your orientation; this is your chance to prepare for your internship, as well as city life in Barcelona. Then it’s time to meet your new Beyond Community; get to know each other over the finest Spanish cuisine.
Turn up on time for your first day of work, then introduce yourself to your co-workers. You’ll be spending a lot of time here over the coming weeks, so make a good first impression! Get to grips with your work, then dive in; and if you ever have any questions, ask away. Your colleagues are here to help you succeed.
Soon enough, it’s already time for your first trip. Head out to the popular tourist destination of Girona to discover an ancient city of museums, art galleries, and cultural sights!
By your third week in Barcelona, you’ve been getting into the rhythm of life with your busy startup. You’ve developed your skill in managing a variety of stakeholders; and you’ve mastered social media, promoting your firm’s brand across multiple platforms to raise awareness and increase sales. It’s a good time to take some time out with your manager to consider your progress.
After an intense couple of weeks, you’re probably looking to relax. A community dinner is the perfect opportunity to kick back with your friends, so head along and let your community know how you’ve been getting on. Try a tapas bar or an international restaurant!
The entrepreneurial world is highly interconnected, and so you’ve probably made a few connections of your own already. As your internship winds down, you’ve been considering your time in Barcelona. Not only have you gained some world-class work experience; you’ve also made friends and professional contacts, and immersed yourself in another culture to boot. Not bad for six weeks! Before you’re due to fly out, you’ll want to make the most of the city. Take a visit to the Chocolate Museum for some sweet treats and chocolate sculptures; or visit one of Europe’s largest supercomputers, found within a disused chapel!

Our housing partners in Barcelona are carefully chosen to meet our stringent safety, quality and cleanliness standards. We offer mainly student accommodation or shared apartments. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and other young professionals. It’s a great way to build your own community, especially if you’re traveling from abroad.
You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed somewhere with access to public transport. Depending on where your firm is, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
We’ll confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your Entrepreneurship & Startups internship begins. This is due to the demand for short term accommodation and ever-changing availability.
