To the Japanese, attention to detail is everything. Learn all about the intricate process of traditional Japanese tea-making, all while donning a traditional kimono!
Visit a delightful interactive museum that showcases modern Japanese digital art technology at its finest!
Throughout the program, your Tokyo Community Coordinators will be by your side, providing friendly support, and lots of fun and memorable experiences.
We’ve put together a snapshot of an Environmental & Sustainability internship, based on a typical 6-week internship program.
You’ve finally made it: welcome to Tokyo. A glittering hub of history, culture, and food awaits you; but first, meet us in arrivals and allow us to take you straight to your new accommodation.
Your first day is all about settling in. For some that’s relaxing in your new home or a nearby café; for others it’s hopping on the subway and beginning their Tokyo adventure. However you choose to spend your first day, join us on day two for your orientation. We’ll soon get you up to speed with everything that awaits you in Tokyo. In the evening, you’ll head out to the first of many community dinners as you meet your new friends. Get to know each other over some delicious Japanese food.
As you begin your internship, work hard to impress your colleagues. After a busy first day, you could relax at a community dinner; this time try an international dish as you let your community know how you’re settling in. After dinner, grab the subway home.
Your internship will throw up plenty of new and unexpected challenges as you work in Tokyo. So it’s a good idea to take an early skills workshop to prepare for the weeks ahead. Get your skills into gear and leave ready to apply your new knowledge to your work!
It’s already time for your first trip. Discover the fantastic natural beauty of Mount Fuji as you head up this iconic landmark. On a clear day, you’ll get an amazing view over Tokyo.
By now you’re feeling increasingly confident in your internship. From presenting informative talks in schools and colleges to sending out regular press releases. So head out with your manager to a nearby café or green space and discuss your progress so far.
While in Tokyo, you’ll meet plenty of international professionals working in the city. To aid you as you build up your own network of contacts, we’ll send out an invite to a top industry event. Head along and get to know your fellow professionals. It might pay dividends down the line.
Next, it’s time for your second event. You’ll learn the secrets of traditional Japanese tea-making, while wearing the traditional kimono!
Your internship is drawing to a close, and you’ve been looking back on what you’ve gained. You’ve had hands-on work experience, a complete cultural education, and made friends for life. Not bad for six weeks. So if you haven’t already, pencil in your 1-to-1 career coaching session to consider your achievements; all with professional guidance.
Next up is your final trip; Shinjuku. Explore everything this busy entertainment district has to offer; from delicious food and drink to minibars and quirky restaurants.
Your last scheduled event is your farewell dinner. Head out to meet with your community one last time. Reminisce about your time in Tokyo, swap contact details, and say goodbye. And before you’re due to fly out, get as much out of the city as you can. If it’s the right season, experience cherry blossoms or take in a sumo tournament for an authentic Japanese experience! Alternatively experience the ordered beauty at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Whatever you do, you won’t regret making the most of your final days here!
We collaborate with a diverse array of companies, spanning from boutique PR firms to multinational advisory firms. Please note that these examples are purely for reference. The specific company you’ll be associated with will be determined by a wide range of criteria.

You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, bathroom living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed close to public transport. Depending on the location of your firm, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
