You’ll find revellers in bars and restaurants until well after midnight, experiencing Spain’s delicious food and drink culture. Be sure to join them – it’s a great way of soaking up the atmosphere of this glorious city.
You’ll take in all this and more alongside your Beyond Community. There’s nothing like navigating a foreign city together to forge friendships that will last a lifetime.
Before you begin work, we’ll take you on a comprehensive tour of Barcelona. It’s a great way of getting up to speed with your coming workload. You’ll also get plenty of community dinner invites, so head along!
Use your time in the heart of the fashion industry to your advantage as you develop your own network of industry contacts. We’ll send out an invite to a top networking session; it’s your chance to get to know some top fashion leaders. Impress and job or interview offers may come your way.
Discover the narrow bustling streets of Girona as you take a journey out to this ancient city. From the medieval old town to the impressive city walls, experience a city of history and culture. Stop by the Plaça de la Independència to soak up the city’s proud independent past; then take in Girona’s fortifications before you go!
A uniquely Spanish dish, learn how to prepare delicious paella under the tutelage of a master chef. Head out to a local market to pick out the finest ingredients, including fresh prawns and chorizo sausage. Then work closely with your guide as you discover all the secrets to this quintessentially Spanish meal!
Soak up the atmosphere of Barcelona as you indulge in its finest features; architecture and tapas! Explore a mish-mash of styles as you learn a bit of local history. See if you can spot all of Antoni Gaudí’s works across the city! Then chow down on a fantastic selection of tapas; try every Spanish dish you can for the complete experience.
You might be wondering just what it’s like to undertake a Barcelona Fashion internship; that’s why we’ve put together this guide, based on a typical 6-week program.
As you catch your first sight of the city’s multi-colored skyline, you can’t quite believe you’ve finally made it to Barcelona. You’re excited to discover what awaits you; but first, step off the plane and into the sun. We’ll be waiting for you in arrivals, so join us as we whisk you straight to your new home.
Spend the rest of your first day in a way that suits you best; whether that’s unwinding in your room or heading into the heart of the city. You’ll meet us on your second day for your orientation; this is your chance to get up to speed with your program and ask any questions you might have. Later on, you’ll meet up with your Beyond Community for the first time. Try some sumptuous Spanish food and get to know your new friends.
Head over to the office to meet your team. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your co-workers over the coming weeks, so make a good first impression! Get to grips with your workload and then dive straight in. You’ll soon absorb plenty of professional insight from your colleagues and boss.
It’s already time for your first trip. Journey out to nearby Girona as you explore an ancient city of fascinating history; discover ruins, museums, and more!
By your third week, you’ve adapted well to the busy life of a fashion intern. You’ve kept a close eye on emerging trends and styles, briefing your colleagues accordingly; and you’ve brainstormed ways to capitalize on these new trends, including social media marketing campaigns. With your success so far, who knows how you’ll grow in your remaining weeks! In the meantime, head out to a nearby tapas bar with your manager to discuss your progress.
You’ve worked hard these past few weeks, so it’s about time that you meet up with your friends at a community dinner. Catch up with your community as you sample one of Barcelona’s many international cuisines. Afterwards, take a peaceful walk home along the beach.
Immersed in the fashion industry, you’ll have probably made a few contacts already. But to help you develop your network, we’ll send you out an invite to a top industry session. Head and along and find out a bit more about your sector; play your cards right and you might just secure your next job.
Your second trip is a paella-making masterclass! Pick out the finest ingredients, then learn from the best as you discover all the secrets to this delicious dish. Impress friends and family back home with your new skills!
As your internship is nearing its end, you’ve booked in your 1-to-1 session to look back on your time here. Reflect on your achievements and where there’s room for improvement, all with professional insight; conclude your session by planning out your next steps after leaving Barcelona.
For your final trip, get ready to soak up the atmosphere of Barcelona on an architecture and tapas tour. You’ll have got to know Barcelona pretty well by now, so use this time to look out for hidden sights and hotspots. Try as many snacks and dishes as you can!
You can’t quite believe it’s already time, but you’ve got one last event on the horizon: your goodbye dinner. Throw on your best clothes and meet up with your friends one last time. Swap contact details as you pledge to stay in touch, then say goodbye.
In your final few days, you’ll want to make as much of the city as you can. Take in Gaudí’s Casa Vicens to discover the very first house designed by this iconic architect; then get lost in the Parc Del Laberint D’horta, a beautiful maze in the heart of the city.

Our housing partners in Barcelona are carefully chosen to meet our stringent safety, quality and cleanliness standards. We offer mainly student accommodation or shared apartments. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and other young professionals. It’s a great way to build your own community, especially if you’re traveling from abroad.
You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed somewhere with access to public transport. Depending on where your firm is, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
We’ll confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your Fashion internship begins. This is due to the demand for short-term accommodation and ever-changing availability.
