barcelona-workshop

Weeks 1 & 2

As you catch your first sight of the city’s multi-colored skyline, you can’t quite believe you’ve finally made it to Barcelona. You’re excited to discover what awaits you; but first, step off the plane and into the sun. We’ll be waiting for you in arrivals, so join us as we whisk you straight to your new home.

Spend the rest of your first day in a way that suits you best; whether that’s unwinding in your room or heading into the heart of the city. You’ll meet us on your second day for your orientation; this is your chance to get up to speed with your program and ask any questions you might have. Later on, you’ll meet up with your Beyond Community for the first time. Try some sumptuous Spanish food and get to know your new friends.

Head over to the office to meet your team. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your co-workers over the coming weeks, so make a good first impression! Get to grips with your workload and then dive straight in. You’ll soon absorb plenty of professional insight from your colleagues and boss.

It’s already time for your first trip. Journey out to nearby Girona as you explore an ancient city of fascinating history; discover ruins, museums, and more!

Weeks 3 & 4

By your third week, you’ve adapted well to the busy life of a fashion intern. You’ve kept a close eye on emerging trends and styles, briefing your colleagues accordingly; and you’ve brainstormed ways to capitalize on these new trends, including social media marketing campaigns. With your success so far, who knows how you’ll grow in your remaining weeks! In the meantime, head out to a nearby tapas bar with your manager to discuss your progress.

You’ve worked hard these past few weeks, so it’s about time that you meet up with your friends at a community dinner. Catch up with your community as you sample one of Barcelona’s many international cuisines. Afterwards, take a peaceful walk home along the beach.

Immersed in the fashion industry, you’ll have probably made a few contacts already. But to help you develop your network, we’ll send you out an invite to a top industry session. Head and along and find out a bit more about your sector; play your cards right and you might just secure your next job.

Your second trip is a paella-making masterclass! Pick out the finest ingredients, then learn from the best as you discover all the secrets to this delicious dish. Impress friends and family back home with your new skills!

Weeks 5 & 6

As your internship is nearing its end, you’ve booked in your 1-to-1 session to look back on your time here. Reflect on your achievements and where there’s room for improvement, all with professional insight; conclude your session by planning out your next steps after leaving Barcelona.

For your final trip, get ready to soak up the atmosphere of Barcelona on an architecture and tapas tour. You’ll have got to know Barcelona pretty well by now, so use this time to look out for hidden sights and hotspots. Try as many snacks and dishes as you can!

You can’t quite believe it’s already time, but you’ve got one last event on the horizon: your goodbye dinner. Throw on your best clothes and meet up with your friends one last time. Swap contact details as you pledge to stay in touch, then say goodbye.

In your final few days, you’ll want to make as much of the city as you can. Take in Gaudí’s Casa Vicens to discover the very first house designed by this iconic architect; then get lost in the Parc Del Laberint D’horta, a beautiful maze in the heart of the city.

“What I loved about Beyond Academy and why I choose them is because they are more flexible and more individually tailored to what each person is looking for, rather than just a generalised experience. My group and the entire Beyond community has been really welcoming. I am so lucky to be able to have this experience with people that are similar, as in we are all looking to grow personally, grow professionally and also just enjoy every moment. Everyone here has left behind the familiar and has come to the unfamiliar which can be scary, but when you have a community as good as this, it’s not scary at all.”

Hannah from the United States
PR & Journalism Intern, London Immersive Program

“I am involved in Project Management, which is close to what I want to do in the future. One of my favorite parts of my internship is that I’m taken seriously. In the sense that after building up some trust and showing the company what I have to offer, What was great was that I was able to work on a project from start to finish and really get to know the while process, that really gives me a feeling of accomplishment.”

Karin from Austria
Project Management Intern, Tokyo Immersive Program

“My experience so far here has been amazing, it’s just a shock how much I have been enjoying it. The interns are amazing here so we have been hanging out and getting to know each other and exploring Seoul. It’s really just been a full experience that I have been embracing every single day. I work in a team who creates content relating to K-pop. My favourite part of interning is getting to know my coworkers, being around a group of people that are just so kind and inviting, working alongside them every day has been the best experience. I had been hearing about Beyond Academy for quite some time and I read some really great reviews. I wanted to get the work and life balance, which Beyond offered. My favourite thing about Beyond are the connections I have made here and also the events that have been planned, it gets all of us out to embrace Korean culture.”

Jordan from the United States
