Here’s a snapshot of what a typical London Fashion internship might look like, based on a 6-week program.
After months of planning, you’ve finally made it: London. As you flew in, you’ll have caught a glimpse of iconic buildings like the Shard and the Gherkin; spotting famous landmarks will soon be second nature to you! But first, meet us at the airport so we can whisk you straight to your new home.
Some interns prefer to spend their first day kicking back and relaxing in their new digs; others head straight out the door and start exploring. The choice is yours; on day two, you’ll meet us for your comprehensive London orientation. You’ll get to grips with everything that awaits you on your program. Afterwards, you’ll have the chance to meet your Beyond Community. You’ll soon get to know each other.
On your first day of work, head to the office and greet your colleagues and manager. Work hard and you’ll make a great first impression. After a busy day, you’ll want to unwind at a community dinner. Try something international as you swap stories with your new friends; then hail a black cab or take a walk along the Thames to get home.
You’ll face new challenges throughout your fashion internship, so it’s worth taking an early skills workshop. Work with coaches and speakers to prepare yourself for the weeks ahead; train core competencies and get ready to take on everything your fashion internship can throw at you!
For your first trip, you’ll visit Cambridge. This quintessentially English university town is the perfect first foray into British culture. Sample authentic food, marvel at medieval buildings, and float down beautiful waterways.
As you get more and more comfortable in your fashion internship, you’ll be feeling increasingly confident in your abilities. You’ll be keeping track of all the latest trends – as well as predicting what’s coming next; and you’ll produce a constant stream of sketches and ideas. As well as professional written material, from press releases to blog posts. So head out with your manager to a trendy café and review your progress so far.
London is a truly diverse and international city, and that means it’s full of opportunity. By weeks 3 and 4, you’ll have met a few contacts already. But to aid your growing network, we’ll send out an invite to a top industry event. Meet and greet some fashion leaders or up-and-coming designers – it’s all about connections in this industry, and you never know where it might lead.
Next up is your second trip: a journey to London’s West End for an unmissable evening of theater. Explore London’s Soho district as you indulge in spellbinding theater, delicious food, and a few drinks. Finish your night out with some dancing at a nearby nightclub!
As your internship draws to a close, you’re thinking back on what you’ve achieved. Amazing work experience, cultural immersion, and life-long friends; you’ve grown so much in just six weeks, so now’s a good time to schedule a career appointment. Work with a professional coach to consider what you’ve gained over your program; then set out your next steps and plans for your future career.
For food junkies, we’ve saved the best trip until last: a food tour! Follow a guide as you explore London at the ground level. Take in sights you’ve never seen and get a true feel for the city. As you go from market to market, you’ll be trying every dish in sight. It’s a culinary experience like no other!
Lastly, you’ve got one last event on your schedule: your goodbye dinner. Put on your best clothes and meet up with your friends for the final time. Swap contact details, pledge to stay in touch, then say farewell. And just before you go, you’ll want to blitz around London to take in as much as you can. Whether that’s a traditional tour around the Tower of London; or the more offbeat choice of a café experience in a converted Victorian bathroom! London has so much to offer, so don’t miss it.

“The City seems so much more in earnest: its business, its rush, its roar are such serious things, sights and sounds. The City is getting its living – the West-End but enjoying its pleasure.”
