With start dates every month, and lasting anywhere between one and six months in length, choose an internship program that works for you.

Beneath the sunny exterior lies a city utterly in touch with its heritage. With thousands of years of architectural design waiting for you, history is written across the cityscape of Barcelona; and it’s waiting to be discovered through walking tours, galleries and museums. Discover the collected works of Antoni Gaudí; or else immerse yourself in impressive Gothic cathedrals as you soak up a haunting and unique atmosphere.
You’ll discover every part of this city alongside your Beyond Community. Whatever support or advice you need, they’ll be there for you.
Welcome Orientation
Before you begin your internship, we’ll familiarize you with everything awaiting you in Barcelona. From your workload to the city itself. And you’ll receive community dinner invites every few weeks, so be sure to head along!

Girona Trip
A popular tourist spot, take a journey out to Girona to discover an ancient city of magnificent architecture and cobbled lanes. Take in thousands of years of design and culture as you explore the city’s historic squares and plazas; then soak up some history in a museum or historical site. Why not try the Plaça de la Independència to discover the city’s proud past?
Paella Cooking
No trip to Spain is complete without sampling this quintessentially Spanish dish; so go one better and learn all the tips and tricks to making delicious paella. Pick out your ingredients at a local market, including chicken and chorizo sausage. Then watch closely as a master chef demonstrates all the secrets to paella cooking. If you’re wondering just what it’s like to undertake a Finance & Accounting internship in Barcelona, you’re in luck; we’ve put together a guide, based on a typical 6-week program.
Weeks 1 & 2
After months of planning and anticipation, you’ve finally made it to Barcelona. A city of fun and incredible work experience awaits you; so to kick things off, meet us in arrivals and let us whisk you to your home for the next few weeks.
The rest of the first day is yours. Some interns lay low in their accommodation to acclimatize; others head out and start exploring. Either way, you’ll join us on day two for your welcome orientation. We’ll get you up to speed with your program; afterwards, why not go out for dinner with your community? Get to know your brand-new friends over some delicious Spanish food. You’ll soon feel as if you’ve always known each other.
Make a good impression on your first day of work, then knuckle down and dive into your workload. Draw on the knowledge and skills of your co-workers; your time in Barcelona is a learning experience, so treat it like one.
The financial sector will pose plenty of challenges as you work. So it’s a good idea to take an early skills workshop to prepare. Gain some insight from professional coaches and speakers; then get out there and apply yourself!
Soon, it’s already time for your first trip! Take a trip out to nearby Girona and immerse yourself in an ancient city. Discover fascinating history, impressive fortifications, and more!
Weeks 3 & 4
It’s your third week, and you finally feel like you’ve settled into the ebbs and flows of your financial internship. You’re a keen market-watcher, informing your colleagues of any relevant changes; and, with the support of a senior colleague, you’re comfortable with leading meetings with investors. So take some time out to head to a nearby café with your manager and discuss your progress.
You’ve been working hard, and you’re looking to unwind after work. Why not try a community dinner? As your first meal was sumptuously Spanish, sample one of the city’s many international cuisines as you catch up with your friends over a bite to eat.
Finance is a fast-paced industry, and you’ll be regularly meeting new people while in Barcelona. By now, you’ve likely picked up a few contacts of your own; so accept our invite to a top networking session to make some more. Get to know all the movers and shakers in your sector; meet the right person and good things may come of it.
For your second trip, it’s time to learn the secrets of world-class paella! Work closely with a master chef; then impress your friends with your new skill!
Weeks 5 & 6
As your internship draws to an end, you’ve been thinking about what you’ve gained in your time here. From hands-on practical experience to a complete cultural education, it’s certainly been worth it. If you haven’t already, organize your 1-to-1 career coaching session. Consider what you’ve achieved, then plan out your next steps after leaving the city.
Your final trip will take you on a deep-dive into Barcelona as you experience its greatest features: architecture and tapas. Discover some history and culture as you take in the sights; then snack on all the Spanish snacks you can find!
All good things must come to an end, and so you’ve got one final event left to attend: your farewell dinner. Meet up with your friends for one final time; swap your favorite memories of your time in Barcelona, then say goodbye.

Our housing partners in Barcelona are carefully chosen to meet our stringent safety, quality and cleanliness standards. We offer mainly student accommodation or shared apartments. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and other young professionals. It’s a great way to build your own community, especially if you’re traveling from abroad.
You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed somewhere with access to public transport. Depending on where your firm is, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
We’ll confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your Finance & Accounting internship begins. This is due to the demand for short-term accommodation and ever-changing availability.
