Day one is all about settling in. But you can use it to relax or explore your new city. For those of you with long flights, it’s a chance to get over your jet lag before your program begins.
On day two, you’ll embark on our detailed orientation. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about Seoul and your upcoming program.
After the orientation, our welcome lunch or dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!
We hold a community lunch or dinner every two weeks for a fun evening of South Korean food and culture. It’s the ideal way to keep in touch with your fellow interns and be part of the international Beyond community.
During your time in Seoul, we’ll arrange and run three events; from breath-taking natural sites to amazing cultural hotspots.

Your welcome orientation will be a complete introduction to your internship program, Seoul, and other interns. It provides a great opportunity for you to prepare for the life-changing few months ahead and make plenty of friends.
Keep an eye out for an invitation to attend a professional networking event in Seoul. Use networking to build up your international contacts and have fun while you do it.
Andong Hahoe village showcases the amazing rich history of Korea. You’ll be immersed in traditional houses, shrines, museums and mask dance. With so much culture on offer, make sure you leave time for food. If weather conditions are unfavorable, fret not, we’ll take you on a temple stay experience for you to fully immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture!
The rich traditions around the way Korean food is prepared, cooked, and eaten means you’ll have plenty to experience. You’ll be enveloped in the stories of this fascinating culture while cooking with our master chef.
The Hanbok is a traditional piece of clothing that beautifully reflects the essence of Korean heritage! Let our local community experts assist you in finding the ideal Hanbok, and even help you achieve an intricate hair-do in full Korean tradition!
Throughout the duration of your program, your Seoul Community Coordinators will be by your side, providing both friendly support and a lot of enjoyable moments.
See what awaits you – here’s a snapshot of what it’s like to intern in Seoul based on a typical 6-week accounting internship program.
As you land at Incheon International Airport, you’ll be raring to start your internship. It’s time to wait for your pickup as we take you to your home for the next few months.
As you settle into your new accommodation; use day one to get over your jet lag or explore your local surroundings. Then, the following day it’s time for your Seoul orientation. You’ll be able to meet your fellow interns, learn about your program and quickly start building long-lasting international relationships.
You’ll be ready to take on new experiences during your accounting internship. But first, meet and greet your new manager and in-house accounts team, then explore your office.
Once you complete your first day, relax and enjoy South Korean cuisine at one of our Community Team dinners. Then use Seoul’s advanced public transport system to get home. Did you know that Seoul’s government employs mathematicians to manage their complex routes?
During your accounting internship you’ll be constantly learning. You’ll quickly master how to generate and analyze financial reports; and you’ll be working closely with the accounts team to support clients in need of advice.
Early on, it’s a great time to take our skills workshop. Here you’ll be able to hone your skills, and equip yourself with useful resources and insights. Use your newfound knowledge to impress your new colleagues.
Lastly, begin looking forward to the trip to Andong. From its 600-year-old houses, to the retelling of the histories of the Ryu family from the Joseon Dynasty who lived in the village, you’ll have a seriously fascinating time.
During your third week, you might enjoy a catch up with your accounting manager to discuss your progress. And by now, you’ve immersed yourself in Korean café culture and found your regular caffeine spot.
South Koreans are professional and respectful, so make the most of our professional networking event; keep an eye out for your invite. Use this time to add some valuable new international contacts to your network.
Your second guided tour will explore Seoul’s rich food culture. From Samgyeopsal to San-nakji, you’ll explore the expansive food scene of Seoul. After all, the best way to learn about a city is through its food!
You’ll be fully at home in your Internship now, so it’s a great time to look ahead.
If you’ve not done it already, make sure you fit in your 1-to-1 career coaching session. It’s a chance not many professionals get and lets you explore your dreams and ambitions. You can chat over the things you’re finding a little tougher, and set goals and plans for your future career success.

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Seoul. Mainly co-living houses, student accommodation and shared houses, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
