It won’t take long for London to feel like home. You’ll be part of a multicultural community of interns. And our Community Team is there to answer any of your questions. What is the easiest way to get to Oxford Street? Do I need to pay entrance fees for museums? (this one’s on us: no, you don’t)

Whatever it is you need to know, they’ll be happy to assist you.

Your welcome orientation is a detailed introduction to your financial internship program, the city and other interns. It provides the perfect opportunity for you to get ready for the transformative few months ahead. Plus, there’ll be more dinner invites every few weeks, so keep an eye out.

See what awaits you – here’s a snapshot of what it’s like to intern in London based on a typical 6-week accounting internship program.

Weeks 1 & 2

It’s your first day. So why not catch your breath or get over the jetlag if you’ve had a long flight. After that, it’s on to your London orientation. Here you’ll meet your fellow interns and start making new friends.

As you begin your accounting internship you’ll be exhilarated by all the new experiences. You’ll meet your new manager and in-house accounts team, then explore the office. Upon finishing your first day, unwind and enjoy some English cuisine at one of our Community Team dinners. Catch a cab or let the double decker show you London’s sights on your way back home.

During your accounting internship you’ll be learning every day. As you begin to get used to your role, perhaps this is the best time to take our Workshop. This will help you tune your skills and equip you with useful tools and insights. Not just during your internship, but beyond.

Next, you’ll cruise the canals of Cambridge and see the world go by. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the green meadows and Gothic architecture.

Weeks 3 & 4

You’re becoming more and more comfortable in your role. Supervisors may first ask you to copy every move they make; after that, you’re on your own. Well… sort of. Some of your tasks may include researching institutional investment and market-based finance, maintaining financial records, and handling confidential information. At the end of each day or week, you’ll receive insightful feedback. The more you progress, the more complex your tasks become.

By the end of your program, you’ll feel every bit the accounting professional. You might discover you prefer playing with bookkeeping software if you’re more dexterous with tech. Or that you would rather work in a team supporting clients if you happen to be the social type!

While you are grappling with your placement, we’ll be scanning the area for some of the world-class networking events across London. So keep an eye out for invites too!

Weeks 5 & 6

You’re already deep enough in your internship to start thinking ahead about your future financial career.

A 1-to-1 career coaching session is your chance to discuss your career ambitions and dreams. Our professional coach will be able to offer actionable advice on goals and career aims, preparing you for success.

As the weekend rolls around, don’t forget about our East London food tour. Stroll through the bustling Spitalfields Market and vibrant Brick Lane. Soak in the East End’s culinary history as you taste the breadth of multinational cuisine on offer.

It’s almost time to go, but you’re in for a fantastic send-off. Our farewell dinner lets you say a proper goodbye to the brilliant interns you’ve got to know so well. As you bid farewell to your friends, take a last-minute stroll around one of London’s amazing parks or pick up souvenirs on Oxford Street.

We only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards, and all of our partners are located in commutable areas with links to the amazing transport system that London has to offer. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes. Living arrangements involve sharing space with other Beyond Interns, young professionals, and students, fostering a fantastic opportunity to integrate into the local community.

You will get a private bedroom, and most accommodation options include a private bathroom and kitchenette. Some locations include shared living spaces, lounge areas, workspaces, cafe, gym etc. All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport.

As the demand for short-term accommodation is dynamic and availability can vary, we finalize the details of your specific accommodation and location approximately 3-4 weeks before your start date.
