This is useful if you’d like a balanced session; focus both on your progress so far and on any improvements you’d like to make going forward.
Lastly, you could take your meeting in the final days of your internship. Here you can think back on your progress and achievements; then set out a roadmap to success after your program ends.

Here’s a snapshot of how your Hospitality, Events, & Tourism internship might look, based on a typical 6-week program.
After plenty of planning and hard work, you’ve finally made it to Tokyo. You can’t wait to get out there and discover this futuristic metropolis of history, technology, and culture; but first thing’s first, meet us at the airport and we’ll take you straight to your accommodation for the next few weeks.
Relax on your first day; that can be settling into your new home, or getting out there and exploring Tokyo. Your second day is all about your orientation; get up to speed on your program, then head out and meet your new community. Chat over some authentic Japanese food.
When work begins, turn up nice and early on your first day. Deference and professionalism are the best ways of impressing your colleagues; work hard and you’ll be rewarded. Afterwards, you might want to grab takeaways as you attend a community dinner. This time, try something international as you debrief your new friends on how your first day went.
As you work in the busy hotel and events industry, you’ll regularly be faced with new and unforeseen challenges. To get your skill-set up to scratch for the coming weeks, why not take a skills workshop? Work with coaches and speakers as you improve your core competencies; leave excited to apply your new knowledge to your internship.
Soon enough, it’s time for your first trip. Head out to Mount Fuji for an unparalleled experience. Explore this beautiful natural landmark and take in the surrounding sights.
By week three, you’ve soon grown into your role. Whether that’s providing top-notch customer service as you field enquiries and offer support; or perfecting your firm’s email advertising campaign to send out to potential clients or customers. So take some time out with your manager and discuss how things are going.
Tokyo is an interconnected city, and in the busy hotel and events industry you’ve likely met plenty of professionals already. We’ll help you build up your growing list of contacts by sending out an invite to an exclusive industry networking event. Get to know top leaders in this sector; it might just pay off.
Next, it’s time for your second event. You’ll learn the secrets of traditional Japanese tea-making, while wearing the traditional kimono!
As your internship draws to a close, you’ve been thinking back on your achievements. From practical work experience to a cultural education to life-long friends and professional contacts, you’ve gained so much; and all in just six weeks! Pencil in your 1-to-1 career coaching session and consider your progress with professional guidance; this is a great way to plan out your next steps after leaving Tokyo.
You’ve got one final trip left, so get ready to experience Shinjuku. Discover the minibars of Golden Gai, an amazing selection of food, and a fantastic nightlife. There’s no better way of capping off your Tokyo experience.
And before you know it, it’s time for your farewell dinner. Put on your fanciest clothes and meet up with your friends one last time. Swap your favorite stories of life in Tokyo, arrange the details of your first group meet-up, then say goodbye. In your final days before flying out, make as much out of the city as you can. Head to the Sengaku-Ji Buddhist temple for a serene experience; or discover the story of Hachiko the dog in the National Science Museum of Japan!
