Upon arrival in Berlin, you’ll receive a detailed orientation. You’ll get a chance to familiarize yourself with the city and the internship ahead!

There are start dates every month, and internships can last anywhere between one and six months, so choose an internship program to help you go beyond.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with our professional coaches and speakers at an immersive workshop. This session will help you tackle the new experiences of your internship as well as improve your professional skills for your career to come.
Whether you focus on team building, leadership, communication or anything else, you’ll come away feeling empowered and ready to apply what you’ve learned going forward.
A perfect opportunity to reflect and plan, you’ll have the chance to meet 1-to-1 with one of our professional coaches. During this session you’ll take a look at your past accomplishments, how they can help you achieve your goals, and look forward toward the future while exploring career options and planning your journey.
Your session is personal to you and can take place whenever you prefer. If you schedule it at the start of your internship you’ll get the chance to make plans and set expectations for the weeks ahead and set you up for success. But you could also wait a few weeks, giving yourself time to get settled and acquainted with your new city and firm. Meeting with a coach at this point would put you in a great position to reflect on your progress and make adjustments to ensure you get the most out of your internship.
However, you could also plan your session for the end of your internship. Using your session around this time will give you a chance to reflect on all you’ve experienced in Berlin and allow you to plot out your plan for the future.
And no matter when you choose to have your session, we will support you throughout your internship. With access to tailored career guidance and interview support, we’ll give you tips on writing a first-class CV or resume as well as things like setting up a great LinkedIn profile. We’re here to help you succeed.

The fast-paced and ever-changing hospitality and tourism sector can be intimidating. You’ll learn and adapt to the needs of your customers, giving you an undeniable sense of satisfaction. There’s a wide range of tasks and responsibilities you’re likely to cover. Here are a few examples of what you might find yourself doing while in Berlin:
– Manage a travel agency websites, run social media accounts and update listings on referral websites

After you arrive, we’ll make you feel welcome at a comprehensive orientation. Networking is an important part of all industries, and hospitality is no exception; your internship is a perfect opportunity to start building your international network. We’ll ensure you’re invited to an exclusive industry networking event so make sure you’ve put your best foot forward. You never know, that industry leader you met might be your next employer!
You’ll create memories that will last a lifetime when you visit the beautiful Potsdam. You’ll feel like you’ve been dropped in a fairy tale as you walk down the streets, from the opulent architecture of Sanssouci Palace to the manicured greenery of Neuer Garten. Over in the Dutch Quarter, you’ll find picturesque red brick houses home to quaint boutiques and intimate cafes. Stop for a coffee and take it all in!
Berlin has long been an important city for art, which makes it a great choice for an art tour. You’ll have the chance to take in some of history’s greatest masterworks and striking street art from up-and-coming contemporary artists. And between stops, enjoy some of the best street food Germany has to offer! A bratwurst or currywurst is just what you’ll need.
One of the last of its kind, Clärchens Ballhaus is an icon of Berlin nightlife. The turn-of-the-century ballroom hosts all kinds of great live music, so while you’re here grab a cocktail and drink in the atmosphere. You’ll be transported back to Berlin’s golden era for a night that you’ll remember forever!
By now you probably want to know what to expect as an intern in Berlin. Here’s a snapshot of a typical 6-week Hospitality, Tourism & Events program.
Months of preparation have finally paid off, you’ve arrived in Berlin – willkommen (welcome)! After you grab your luggage, we’ll collect you and take you to your new accommodations. Take the rest of the day to settle in and recover from jet lag, or dive right in and start exploring the city. Today, the world is your oyster so make the most of it however you want!
On your second day, you’ll start your internship journey. We’ll give you a comprehensive orientation where you’ll get all of the information you need about what lies ahead; now is the time to take plenty of notes and ask any questions you might have. In the evening, feast on some authentic German food and make new friends that are also on this journey with you.
You’ll want to make sure you’re on time for the first day of your internship, this is your chance to make a great first impression. Meet your new colleagues and get an idea of what kind of tasks you’ll be responsible for and then you can really get started. Along the way, be sure to take notes and ask questions, your colleagues have a lot of experience and are a great source of insight.
Starting a new role in the hospitality sector can feel overwhelming. If you find yourself in this position, you might want to consider making time to attend a skills workshop early on. You’ll find professional coaches and experienced speakers ready to help you develop strategies to approach your new responsibilities. You’ll leave with a plan in place and feeling confident.
Next, you’ll want to take the opportunity to unwind with your first excursion to Potsdam. Home to royal palaces and fairy tale gardens, it’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in German history.
As you get into your third week, you’re feeling more comfortable with your role and finding your feet within your firm. You’re co-ordinating pre-production work on a major event, and you’re providing excellent customer service with a smile. Things are going great; take a moment to sit down with your manager over a coffee to discuss your progress.
It’s been an intense couple of weeks, so why don’t you pencil in some time to unwind with your friends? A community dinner is exactly what you need; eat some great food and share your experiences with fellow interns. You’ll learn a lot from each other and create memories in the process!
At this point, you’re starting to connect with new people in the hospitality industry. Ensure you build on these new links by attending an industry networking event. Get to know the thought leaders in the sector and take this opportunity to ask questions. Impress the right person and you never know, it could pay dividends in the future.
Get ready for your second day trip. You’ll really get to know Berlin on this exciting art tour, you’ll dip into galleries and museums and stop to refuel with a bratkartoffeln or currywurst along the way.
As you pass the halfway mark, your internship is starting to wind down; you’ll want to book your 1-to-1 career session. Use this time to look back at all you have accomplished and the skills you’ve gained during your time in Berlin. Working with one of our professional coaches, you’ll leave with a plan in place for the future.
Your final trip will sweep you off your feet. Clärchens Ballhaus is a glamorous turn-of-the-century ballroom where you’ll immerse yourself in Berlin’s golden era, dancing the night away and drinking delicious cocktails.
Now your time in Berlin is coming to an end, attend your farewell dinner to reminisce with your friends about all you’ve experienced during your time here and ensure you know how to contact each other as you continue your career journeys. You’ll have a bit of time to ensure you’ve made the most of Berlin before you fly home; relax by floating in a pool of salt water at Liquidrom spa or take in the extraordinary objects at Design Panoptikum!

Our Berlin housing partners are carefully selected; meeting our stringent standards for safety, quality and cleanliness are top requirements. Accommodations are primarily shared apartments or student accommodations where you’ll live with fellow Beyond interns or other young professionals. It’s an excellent way to find a community and make friends, especially if you’re here from abroad.
You’re guaranteed to have plenty of communal space, including a kitchen, bathroom, and other living spaces. Additionally, you’ll have a private bedroom with bedding, Wi-Fi, and sometimes a desk. While each location is different, we try our hardest to ensure you’re near public transport. We aim to ensure your commute is less than 60 minutes from your firm.
We will typically confirm your accommodation and location 3-4 weeks before your Hospitality, Tourism & Events internship is due to start. This is due to the constantly changing availability and high demand for short-term accommodation.
