The session will be tailored to you and you can take advantage of it whenever you wish. You might schedule it for soon after you arrive, allowing you to prepare for your internship and set goals for the weeks ahead. Alternatively, you might prefer to wait a few weeks; give yourself time to get settled in and get some work experience under your belt. This will allow you to reflect on all you’ve done, planning how to adjust your approach to make the most of your internship.
Or, you may prefer to plan for a session at the end of your internship. You could use the session as an opportunity to make plans and plot out your future career path, exploring how to use your experiences and achievements in Berlin as a guide.

While you’re in Berlin you’ll have the chance to build a great network of international contacts. A short journey from Berlin, your trip to Potsdam will feel like an escape from reality with its beautiful gardens and monumental palaces. Make sure to spend some time at the Holländerviertel (Dutch Quarter) and take in the rows of Dutch-style red brick houses. Stop in one of the many boutiques or sit and have a cup of coffee and drink in the atmosphere!
Berlin has long been a capital of art so it’s a clear choice for an art tour. By now you probably want to know what an internship in Berlin is like. Here’s a snapshot of a typical 6-week Human Resources program.
Months of preparation are finally paying off – you’ve arrived, welcome to Berlin! We’re here to welcome you as soon as you step off the plane, taking you straight to your new accommodations. Once you’ve had a look around, you’re free to enjoy the rest of the day. You might want to relax and recover from jet lag, getting settled in your new home; or you might be anxious to start exploring the city, hopping on the subway and taking Berlin by storm.
In the morning you’ll head to a comprehensive orientation; you’ve officially started your Beyond journey. After you receive lots of information about everything you can expect, you’ll get a chance to ask any questions you may have. As evening approaches, you’ll meet up with your new friends and chat the night away over some delicious German food.
You’ll want to be sure you’re on time for your first day at your new firm; this is your chance to make a great first impression. Today is all about meeting your new colleagues and getting acquainted with your tasks and responsibilities. Be sure to ask questions as you go; everyone around you wants to see you succeed and they have a wealth of experience to help you get there.
In the beginning, a new internship can be overwhelming. If you find yourself in this position, you might want to consider attending a skills workshop. You’ll learn from professional coaches and speakers who are on hand to help you improve your professional skills and learn new strategies to help you manage your work. You’ll leave feeling more confident and ready to take on the weeks ahead.

By your third week you’ve hit your stride and you’re feeling more comfortable with your work. You’re reviewing company policies and taking notes at employee interviews. Now is a great time to sit down with your manager over a cup of coffee and discuss your progress.
It’s been a busy few weeks so be sure you take some time for yourself to relax and unwind. Attend a community dinner for the chance to catch up with friends, hear about how their internships are going and trade stories about your experiences over one of Berlin’s many international cuisines!
You’re also making lots of professional connections in the HR sector; strengthen these links by attending an exclusive networking event. You’ll be amongst the top industry leaders and have the chance to ask them questions, learning from their expertise. Pay close attention, the right conversation could lead to opportunity down the road.
Now get ready for your second day trip. You’ll be headed out to see all that Berlin’s contemporary art scene has to offer alongside the best German street food.
By now your internship is winding down. Don’t miss your chance to book a 1-to-1 career session; you’ll review your work and explore all of your achievements, creating a plan for your career journey alongside one of our professional coaches.
Your final trip is one to remember. At Clärchens Ballhaus you’ll find yourself transported to the 1920s; the glamorous ballroom is the perfect place to sip cocktails and move to the excellent soundtrack provided by one of the many musicians.
Before you say goodbye to Berlin, make some time to say goodbye to your new friends at your farewell dinner; you’ll bond over the memories and shared experiences of your time together. Before you head home, you’ll have time for some last minute adventures in the city; explore the abandoned amusement park at Spreepark or take in some more history at the Stasi Museum, make the most of your final days!

Our housing partners are carefully selected; all Berlin accommodation must meet our strict standards for safety, quality and cleanliness. You’ll likely be staying in a shared apartment or student accommodation with fellow Beyond interns or other young professionals. Whether you’re local or here from abroad, it’s a great opportunity to make friends and build a community.
In addition to the communal living spaces, like a kitchen and bathroom, you’re guaranteed to have your own private bedroom with bedding, Wi-Fi, and maybe even a desk. Each location will vary, but you can rest assured that we’ll try to ensure you’re in close proximity to public transport. We try to place you no more than 30-60 minutes from your firm.
About 3-4 weeks before your HR internship, we’ll confirm your accommodation and its location. This is due to the constantly changing availability and high demand for short-term accommodation
