Living and working in a new city is a nerve-wracking prospect! That’s why you’ll join an amazing Beyond Community of fellow interns, all living and working in Seoul. It’s a support network unlike any other; whether you need advice, or just want to celebrate your achievements, along with our Community Team, they’ll have your back.
Our local Seoul team is on hand to offer all the help and support you need while living in the city. If you’d like advice on your first day, or you’re simply looking for restaurant recommendations, they’ll be there.
We’ll prepare you for the weeks or months ahead and go through everything you need to know about your program. As well as introduce you to your new city, Seoul.
After the orientation, our welcome lunch or dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!
You’ll receive bi-weekly invitations to Beyond Community lunches and dinners. Use these occasions to kick back, relax, and catch up with your friends; all over some incredible food.
A Beyond internship isn’t just about amazing work experience. You’ll also have the opportunity to completely immerse yourself in South Korean culture. To aid your cultural education, we’ll organize three exciting day trips; including a deep dive into South Korea’s incredible culinary heritage and a look at traditional life.

With start dates every month, between one and six months – you choose when to begin your Human Resources internship program.
A world capital with more to it than you could ever find the time to uncover, Seoul is a unique city. With new opportunities round every corner, you’ll receive fantastic HR experience. All while living in the heart of this diverse and enchanting city.
As you work, you’ll get to grips with South Korea’s professional business culture too. You’ll find a focus on collaboration, formality and deference. So always turn up on time, handle business cards with care, and dress smartly. By remaining polite, you’ll build long-lasting relationships and grow to appreciate this respectful, collaborative way of working.
That doesn’t mean that South Koreans don’t like to relax after work! Post-work socials are common and you’ll head to plenty of bars and restaurants in your time here. It’s a chance to build those relationships in a more informal setting. Plus, there’s a whole range of delicious food to try!

Andong Hahoe village showcases the amazing rich history of Korea. You’ll be immersed in traditional houses, shrines, museums and mask dance. With so much culture on offer, make sure you leave time for food. If weather conditions are unfavorable, fret not, we’ll take you on a temple stay experience for you to fully immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture!
The rich traditions around the way Korean food is prepared, cooked, and eaten means you’ll have plenty to experience. You’ll be enveloped in the stories of this fascinating culture while cooking with our master chef.
The Hanbok is a traditional piece of clothing that beautifully reflects the essence of Korean heritage! Let our local community experts assist you in finding the ideal Hanbok, and even help you achieve an intricate hair-do in full Korean tradition!
Throughout the duration of your program, your Seoul Community Coordinators will be by your side, providing both friendly support and a lot of enjoyable moments.
You’ll be eager to discover what it’s like to live and work in Seoul. So we’ve put together a snapshot based on a typical 6-week human resources internship.
After so much time anticipating and preparing for your time in Seoul, you can’t quite believe you’ve finally made it. So much awaits you! But first, meet us at Incheon International Airport so we can drop you off at your new accommodation.
Spend your first day in a way that suits you. Some interns like to sleep off the jet lag and kick back in their new home. While others prefer to get out there and discover their local Seoul neighborhood as quickly as possible. Whatever you choose, you’ll join us on day two for your comprehensive Seoul orientation. Next, meet your fellow interns; why not get to know each other over some tasty food?
You’ll be eager to dive into work, so introduce yourself to your new colleagues and get stuck in! After a busy first day, attending a community dinner is a good way to relax. If you had traditional Korean cuisine at your welcome dinner, why not branch out and try something international? Afterwards, take a moonlit walk along the Han River, or navigate Seoul’s high-tech public transport system to get home.
Your internship will be challenging, and no two days are ever the same when you’re working in HR. Many of our interns take an early skills workshop to get themselves up to scratch for their program. Join professional coaches and speakers as you sharpen your skills and improve yourself for the coming weeks.
Lastly, begin looking forward to the trip to Andong. From its 600-year-old houses, to the retelling of the histories of the Ryu family from the Joseon Dynasty who lived in the village, you’ll have a seriously fascinating time.
As time goes on, you’ll feel more settled in your HR internship. You’ve learned to quickly build strong relationships with a multitude of employees and clients, and you’re an administrative whiz. So now’s a good time to head out with your manager to a nearby café and review your progress.
With a huge population and business opportunities waiting round every corner, you’ve probably made new friends and business relationships already. To help you out, we’ll send out invitations to industry networking events. Head along and impress top industry leaders – you never know where a connection might lead.
Then it’s time to embark upon your second tour. Follow a guide as you discover Seoul’s fantastic food culture. Whether you’re sampling KFC or international fusion dishes, it will be a culinary delight. Learn about Seoul and its people through its cuisine.
You’ll be fully at home in your Internship now, so it’s a great time to look ahead.
If you’ve not done it already, make sure you fit in your 1-to-1 career coaching session. It’s a chance not many professionals get and lets you explore your dreams and ambitions. You can chat over the things you’re finding a little tougher, and set goals and plans for your future career success.

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Seoul. Mainly co-living houses, student accommodation and shared houses, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
