Orientation

Take your first day settling in (and get over jetlag for those coming from afar!). You will be invited to a comprehensive orientation on your second day in the country, where we will tell you everything you need to know about the city and what to expect from the program in the coming weeks and months.

Welcome lunch or dinner

After the orientation, our welcome lunch or dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!

Bi-Weekly community lunch or dinner

There will be a community lunch or dinner every few weeks to keep you in touch with everyone.

Every few weeks we will get everyone together for a fun evening of catchups and good local food.

Explore the beautiful white-washed villages along the Costa Brava, try some local specialities, and take in the history on display in Girona.

Your Barcelona program
at a glance

See what awaits you – here’s a snapshot of what it’s like to intern in Barcelona based on a typical 6-week program.

Weeks 1 & 2

You’ll know you’re about to land as the plane glides over the hot Med seascape. Hola, Barcelona!

Take a day to find your feet and settle into your accommodation. Next up is your orientation and welcome dinner, where you’ll get to meet the other interns and start making some new friends.

Your internship will begin with a whirl of amazing new experiences. Meet the new team you’ll be working with, and take a tour of your new office. Nibble on Patatas Bravas and chorizo whilst you catch up with our Community Manager. Barcelona is a treat at night, so take the long way home.

Keep up the focus on work with our Business Workshop. There are a load of tools and insights to discover that will come in use during your internship and beyond.

The first trip, along the Costa Brava to Girona, will take in the sometimes rugged, sometimes golden-smooth, coastline and end in a city steeped in historical significance.

Weeks 3 & 4

Find a spot to get coffee with your manager and have a feedback session on how you’ve been doing at work.

Barcelona has a fizzing networking scene and we’ll be finding the very best opportunities for you to build your international network.

Fancy taking some tapas recipes home? Learn how to cook the perfect Paella (and local Catalan version, ‘Fideua’) with a local chef in our Spanish cooking class.

Weeks 5 & 6

You’ll be forming new ideas, dreams, and ambitions about your career, so it’s a great time for your 1-to-1 career coaching session. You can talk over your goals and begin to make plans for career success.

While Gaudi is the big local name in architecture, there is lots more to take in during your time in Barcelona. Our third trip combines buildings and tapas with a local foodie architect.

Say adiós to all the amazing people you’ve met and friends you’ve made during our farewell dinner..

Grab a few more of your favorite tapas at a seafront bar and catch one last sunset. Barcelona will be waiting for you to visit again.

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Barcelona. Mainly student accommodation and shared apartments, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.

You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.

Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
