Orientation
Take your first day settling in (and get over jetlag for those coming from afar!). You will be invited to a comprehensive orientation on your second day in the country, where we will tell you everything you need to know about the city and what to expect from the program in the coming weeks and months.
Welcome dinner
After the orientation, our welcome dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!
Bi-Weekly community dinner
There will be a community dinner every few weeks to keep you in touch with everyone.
Every few weeks we will get everyone together for a fun evening of catchups and good local food.

Weeks 1 & 2
Ready, get set… you’ve flown in over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and now San Francisco is yours to savor… Go!
Take a day to soak up those Californian vibes and settle into your new home for the coming weeks. Then enjoy our welcome dinner with like-minded interns from across the globe, before getting down to the business of living San Fran-style.
Your head’s bound to buzz during the first few days – so much to learn about your new workplace and colleagues. Unwind by exploring the abundance of cuisines, neighborhoods and cultural gems beyond the office with our Community Team.
To begin with, you’ll be laser-focused on getting to grips with work. To help you make a smooth start, our Business Workshop offers a ream of practical tools and useful insights to get – and keep – you on track.
And there’s plenty to look forward to… like discovering San Francisco’s colorful hidden stairways on our special tour.
Weeks 3 & 4
You’re in the swing by now, so it’s the ideal time to discuss your progress with your manager.
And there are ‘meet-ups’ in multiple industries all over SF – it’s a fun way to chat and network with experienced professionals.
In a city this vibrant, each day brings a fresh discovery – an awesome lunch spot, a niche gallery.Our upcoming day trip to Muir Woods, Sausalito, and Alcatraz let you see some of Bay area’s big attractions in one day – don’t miss it!
Weeks 5 & 6
By now you’ll be a hardy hill-climber and uber-discerning coffee drinker, just like an SF native. And your internship may be expanding your thinking and ambitions in ways you didn’t expect.
That’s why now’s the right time for a 1-to-1 coaching session. You get to explore what comes next, career-wise. Talk through your strengths and challenges with a professional coach to help define your personal goals – and how to reach them.
And don’t forget to join our walking adventure so you can admire stunning artist murals and drop by the legendary Castro district. All topped off by a special farewell dinner to bring your San Francisco sojourn to a memorable close…
Accommodation
in San Francisco

We work with a few carefully selected partners in San Francisco. Mainly student accommodation and shared apartments, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
