Orientation
Take your first day settling in (and get over jetlag for those coming from afar!). You will be invited to a comprehensive orientation on your second day in the country, where we will tell you everything you need to know about the city and what to expect from the program in the coming weeks and months.
Welcome lunch or dinner
After the orientation, our welcome lunch or dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!
Bi-Weekly community lunch or dinner
There will be a community meal every few weeks to keep you in touch with everyone.
Every few weeks we will get everyone together for a fun evening of catchups and good local food.

Do it at the beginning of the program to focus on making the most of the internship. Your Sydney Community
The Australians are a laid-back and cheerful bunch by nature. Socialising is a bit part of daily life and you’ll have no problem fitting in down at the beach after work or at a co-workers ‘barbie’ (BBQ).
Sydney will soon be like a home-away-from-home and you’ll join the chilled out and flowing pace of life. If there is anything you need, or questions about places to shop, ways to get around, best things to see while ‘down under’, just let the community team know. They’re on hand 24/7 for any challenges or problems you have.
Welcome Orientation
A full introduction to the program, the city and other interns. The perfect chance to get ready for the transformative few months ahead. There’ll be more dinner invites every few weeks, so keep an eye out.

Blue Mountains
A trip to take your breath away. Epic scenery and amazing wildlife are a few of the thrills that await you on a day trip to the Blue Mountains.
Opera House
It’s iconic and unmissable, and you’ll get to see it inside and out. Enjoy the spectacle of a show, then on to dinner to complete an unforgettable night out.
Food Tour
Australia is famous for its BBQ’s and roast lamb, but here you’ll see the hidden side of Sydney’s food scene. Explore Little India and treat your taste buds to a top selection of street food.

Weeks 1 & 2
It’s been a long flight, but you’re finally here! Unpack your sun-screen and jump right into your Sydney adventure.
Take a day to get settled into your new home, and head to your orientation and welcome dinner the next day. You’ll have a great time meeting the other interns and making new friends.
As your internship starts, enjoy the energising experience of learning new things every day. Say hello to your new team and get familiar with the Aussie work culture. End your day with an after-work dinner with our Community Team to chat and relax. Maybe fit in a harbourside walk on the way home?
Join others in our Business Workshop and dig into the tools and insights that can help you make the most out of your internship.
You’ll enjoy our trip to the Blue Mountains – a magical day-out that combines exquisite views, wildlife, and amazing facts about the area.
Weeks 3 & 4
Time to see how things are going – grab a coffee with your manager for a feedback session.
The business scene in Sydney is booming and we’ll be looking for the best networking events and securing you an invite.
As you explore the city’s lesser-known hideaways, our events will make sure you also check off the big ticket attractions. No trip to Sydney would be complete without a visit to the Opera House. Enjoy an opera masterpiece inside this extraordinary performance space, and end the night on a high savoring the wonders of the show with others over dinner.
Weeks 5 & 6
You’ll be hitting top gear in your internship now, so it’s a really good time to look to the future.
A 1-to-1 career coaching session with a professional coach lets you go over ideas, hopes and dreams that the internship has sparked into life. Set some goals and plan for career success.
Get to see some of the hidden gems of Little India with our night time street food tour. From pani puri to Nepalese dumplings, you’ll end with a full tummy and a big smile.
It’s nearly time to leave Australia, but not before a proper send-off at our farewell dinner. Say goodbye to the friends you’ve made, and arrange to meet up again soon. A last lamington with mates before heading back? Well, it’d be rude not to.

Accommodation
in Sydney

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Sydney. Mainly student accommodation and shared apartments, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
