If it were its own city, Brooklyn would be the third biggest in the entire US; this should give you a sense of just how large and varied this borough is. You’ll never get done seeing it all, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Experience curated green spaces, a fantastic selection of food and drink, and heritage aplenty. Cap off your day by taking in the setting sun from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Long ago, musical giants from Miles Davis to Ella Fitzgerald established New York’s reputation for jazz excellence. It’s your third week in New York, and you’re feeling increasingly confident in your role. Whether it’s chasing down leads for the next big story or conducting interviews for slice-of-life features, you’re gaining invaluable experience. Take some time out with your manager to discuss how you’re getting on.
After a busy few weeks, you might want to enjoy yourself with a community dinner. Meet up with your friends as you try one of New York’s many authentic international restaurants; chat the night away, then grab a yellow taxi or the subway home.
By now, you’ll probably have made a fair few contacts of your own. Head along to an industry networking session and meet some top media executives; hit it off with the right person and you just might be speaking to your next boss.
Soon enough, it’s time to get ready for your second tour. You’ll be taking a visit down to the Lower East Side, a unique corner of Manhattan. A traditionally immigrant and working-class neighbourhood, there’s plenty of history and blended culture for you to sink your teeth into.
