“What I loved about Beyond Academy and why I choose them is because they are more flexible and more individually tailored to what each person is looking for, rather than just a generalised experience. My group and the entire Beyond community has been really welcoming. I am so lucky to be able to have this experience with people that are similar, as in we are all looking to grow personally, grow professionally and also just enjoy every moment. Everyone here has left behind the familiar and has come to the unfamiliar which can be scary, but when you have a community as good as this, it’s not scary at all.”

Or you might want to wait until half-way through your internship for a more balanced session. Begin by reflecting on your successes so far; then set out any adjustments for the rest of your time.

Lastly, you could take your appointment in the closing days of your internship. This is a good way of capping things off; consider what you’ve gained, then set out your next steps to your dream job.

And at any point in your program, we’ll offer you personalized career advice and interview tips. We can assist you as you get your CV or resume up to scratch; or help you polish your LinkedIn profile.

Weeks 1 & 2

As you take your first steps into the Barcelonan sunshine, you realize you’ve finally made it: welcome to Barcelona. The first order of business is meeting us in arrivals; we’re here to take you straight to your new accommodation. Then it’s time to settle in: how you spend the day is your choice, whether you want to relax in your room or explore the city.

On your second day, join us for your orientation. We’ll get you up to speed with your coming challenges. Then in the evening, you’ll meet your Beyond Community for the first time over a plate of delicious Spanish food. Chat into the night as you begin to make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Turn up nice and early on your first day and introduce yourself to your co-workers. Take inspiration from their knowledge and ask them any questions you might have; they’re here to help you succeed, after all.

Your workload will pose new and unexpected difficulties, so take a skills workshop to help you adapt. Work with coaches and speakers to boost your skill-set; apply what you’ve learned to your new job, and your future career.

It’s already time for your first trip. Head out to Girona, a popular tourist spot, to discover the history and culture of ‘Barcelona in miniature’. See if you can spot a landmark or two!

Weeks 3 & 4

It’s week three, and you’re really getting the hang of your workload. From keeping your firm’s website updated and bug-free to conducting intensive research into the latest technological innovations. Take some time out with your manager and discuss your progress.

After a busy few weeks, you’ve been looking to unwind; fortunately, you’ve just received a community dinner invite. Meet up with your friends and swap stories about your first few weeks on the job; sample one of the city’s many international cuisines, or else grab takeaways and head to the beach!

You’ll have already met a few of your fellow tech professionals; you’ll want to develop your network even further by attending a top industry session. Impress the right person and it might just pay off!

Your second trip is a paella-making masterclass. Here, you’ll work closely alongside a master chef as you discover everything you need to know about this Spanish classic. You’ll never forget your new skills!

Weeks 5 & 6

Almost as soon as it began, your internship is entering its final days. You’ve decided to take your 1-to-1 career session in order to reflect on what you’ve gained. Not just world-class work experience, but lifelong friends and an unmissable cultural immersion. It’s certainly been worth it. Finish things up by casting your mind forward to the future.

Your final trip is an immersive deep-dive into Barcelona as you discover architecture and tapas. You’re pretty familiar with the city by now, so use this opportunity to explore Barcelona for one last time. Make sure you’re snacking between architectural sights!

You’ve got one last event on the agenda: your farewell dinner. Meet up with your friends for one last time, reminiscing over the good times you’ve had; pledge to keep in touch, then say goodbye. And make sure to spend your remaining few nights in the city seeing any sights you might have missed out on. Head over to the Parc Güell to get a glimpse at a few more Gaudí masterpieces; or discover ‘The World Begins With Every Kiss’ mural, an exhibition of romantic mosaics.
