Some take their appointment in the opening days of their internship. This is a good way of getting ready for the challenges of your internship; as well as setting out some goals you could meet. Otherwise, wait until half-way through your internship for a more balanced session. Reflect on what you’ve gained so far, then think about any improvements you can make for your remaining time here.
Lastly, a session to cap off your internship will allow you to consider your progress more fully; then cast your mind out to the future for your return to your home country. What opportunities are out there?

Take in ancient design and culture as you explore the city’s historic squares and plazas; then soak up some history in one of Girona’s many impressive museums. Make sure you check out the city’s impressive Roman fortifications before leaving.
A meal enjoyed all over the world, paella is a quintessential Spanish dish; and this is your chance to learn how to make it. Head out to a local market and choose your ingredients, including spicy chorizo sausages. Then get to work, observing a master chef closely as you learn all the secrets to this delicious dish!
Soak up the atmosphere as you stroll through the heart of Barcelona, discovering its best features; architecture and tapas. Take a historical and cultural tour as you immerse yourself in thousands of years of history; from ancient ruins through to modern designs. As you explore the city, stop off in every tapas bar you can!

Step off the plane and get your first taste of that fresh Spanish air; cross the tarmac and meet us in arrivals as we welcome you to Barcelona. We’ll whisk you to your accommodation so you can acclimatize to your new surroundings in a way that suits you.
Whether you relaxed in your room or began exploring the city, meet us on your second day for your orientation. We’ll get you up to speed with your coming internship. In the evening, you’ll meet your Beyond Community for the first time. Chat with your new community over a delicious Spanish dish; many interns make friends for life, and this is where it all starts.
On your first day of work, introduce yourself to your colleagues and get stuck in. This is a learning experience, so draw on their knowledge and insight as you develop your own skills. They’re here to help you succeed!
Of course, you’ll soon find yourself challenged by your workload; so take a skills workshop to help you adapt to your internship. Work with professional coaches to develop your core competencies; leave this session ready to face the future.
It’s already time for your first trip. Take a journey out to the popular tourist site of Girona, also known as ‘Barcelona in miniature’. Soak up some history and culture, then go landmark spotting!
By week three, you feel like you’re really getting to grips with your workload. Your editing skills are growing, and you’re developing an eye for effective set design. So take some time out with your manager to discuss your progress.
It’s been a hectic few weeks, so take some time out to unwind with a community dinner. Meet up with your friends and see how they’ve been getting on; if your first dinner was Spanish, try one of the city’s many authentic international cuisines.
The entertainment industry is heavily interconnected, so you’ve probably met a few fellow professionals already. Build up your contact list by attending a top industry session; you might just secure your next job here!
Your second trip is a culinary adventure. Working with a master chef, you’re about to learn all the tips and tricks to making world-class paella. This delicious dish is recognized across the world – and you’re about to be a master of it.
You can’t quite believe your internship is nearing its end, but you’ve started thinking about drawing things to a close. To begin with, make sure you organize your 1-to-1 career session to reflect on your experiences; end your meeting by planning out a roadmap to your dream job.
For your final trip, take a deep-dive into the heart of Barcelona as you discover the city’s architecture and tapas. By now you’ll be intimately familiar with Barcelona, so take the chance to explore some hidden hotspots. You’ll be snacking on all the tapas you can eat as you go.
With one final event to attend, your time in Barcelona is nearly over. Conclude things with your farewell dinner; there will be tears and laughter as you meet up with your community for one last time. One thing’s for sure: you’ve made friends for life here.

Our housing partners in Barcelona are carefully chosen to meet our stringent safety, quality and cleanliness standards. We offer mainly student accommodation or shared apartments. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and other young professionals. It’s a great way to build your own community, especially if you’re traveling from abroad.
You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed somewhere with access to public transport. Depending on where your firm is, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
We’ll confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your TV, Theater, Film & Music internship begins. This is due to the demand for short-term accommodation and ever-changing availability.
