With start dates every month, and lasting anywhere between one and six months in length, you can choose the right internship for you.
You might find working in Amsterdam to be a more laid-back and informal experience than you’re used to. But that’s all part of the distinctive Dutch charm. The Dutch are collaborative people, so your opinion will be appreciated as you contribute to meetings and develop ideas. Mutual trust is valued highly, so maintain firm eye contact as you speak; and always make sure you demonstrate your respect for their time by showing up promptly.
Working in Amsterdam, you’ll get a true European business experience. You’ll build up a range of international entertainment contacts that will benefit you immeasurably as you step into your future career. While you’re here, discover Nederhop (the popular Dutch hip-hop) or the Netherlands’s strong tradition of public service broadcasting. Our workshop is carefully designed to boost your employability and development. We’ll help you hone your skills and develop some new ones too.
You’ll work with coaches and speakers to undergo exercises in core competencies; a typical session might focus on leadership, communication, and confidence in a professional setting.
You’ll leave this workshop with brand new knowledge and skills, feeling reinvigorated for the weeks ahead.
Review your progress so far with the support of a career coach in this 1-to-1 session. Think critically about your successes and failures to date, as well as improvements you can make going forward.
Of course, you’ll be busy experiencing life in the entertainment industry. Your schedule will be packed full of meetings, trips, and community dinners. So book in this session at a time that works for you.
An early appointment is a great way of preparing for the weeks ahead. Consider your strengths and how best to apply them. Alternatively, you could take a session half-way through your internship and split your focus; reflect on your progress so far before considering the changes you’ll make for your remaining weeks.
Lastly, a meeting toward the end of your internship is a fantastic way of looking back on what you’ve gained. You’ll also be able to draw up a roadmap for your next steps after leaving Amsterdam.
We’ll offer tailored career advice and interview tips at any time during your program. We’ll guide you as you perfect your CV or resume; or we’ll help you build the perfect LinkedIn profile.

English is spoken widely in Amsterdam, so you’ll soon fit right in. While the Dutch can be open and direct, don’t take things too seriously – they’re not trying to offend. But keep in mind that the Dutch often plan things weeks in advance and take appointments very seriously; so keep careful track of time while you’re here! Otherwise, discover a unique city full of cycling and delicious food as you explore Amsterdam. Alongside your amazing Beyond Community, you’ll never forget your time here.

We’ll send out an invite to a top professional networking session in Amsterdam. Meet entertainment executives from all around the globe; make a good first impression and job or interview offers may be around the corner.
Take a break from city life with this fantastic canal cruise! Experience the waterways of Amsterdam as you take in the city from below; discover iconic landmarks, unique architecture, and beautiful greenery as you float serenely along. Tuck into some delicious food and drink and soak up the atmosphere!
Hop from market to market on this fantastic local tour. While the Netherlands does have a few classic dishes of its own, including Hollandse Nieuwe herring and stroopwafel cookies, the country is better known for its amazing selection of worldwide cuisines. So try it all as you get to grips with the local intentional culture; from Indonesian lontong kupang clam soup to crispy Japanese tempura.
Journey back to the 18th century with a visit to Zaanse Schans. This slice of Dutch heritage offers wooden houses, workshops, and barns to explore. Visit the cheese factory for a delicious snack or head to local bakeries to taste some fantastic cookies. Then browse nearby shops to pick up souvenirs for friends and family back home.

After so much anticipation and excitement, you can’t quite believe you’re stepping off the airplane in Amsterdam. The adventure of a lifetime awaits; but first, meet us in arrivals and we’ll take you straight to your new home.
Spend your first day in a way that suits you best; it might be getting out and exploring Amsterdam, or sleeping off the jet lag. Either way, meet us on day two for your orientation; we’ll prepare you for everything that awaits you on your program. Next, you’ll finally meet your Beyond Community. You’ve been looking forward to this; and soon, you’ll become the closest of friends!
On your first day of work, turn up promptly to demonstrate your respect for your colleagues’ time. Work hard to impress, then kick back in the evening at a community dinner; you might want to grab takeaways and head to one of Amsterdam’s beautiful green spaces to relax. Debrief your new friends on how your first day went; then take a water taxi home.
You’ll soon be faced with a range of new challenges as you get further into the busy world of entertainment. So it’s a good idea to boost your skills with a workshop; work with coaches and speakers to hone your core competencies and prepare yourself for the weeks ahead! You’ll be able to apply your new knowledge to your internship, and beyond.
It’s already time for your first trip. Cruise along the beautiful canals of Amsterdam and take in all the sights the city has to offer. You’ll feel totally immersed in the heart of this atmospheric city.
You’ve soon found yourself rising to meet the day-to-day challenges of your internship. You’re developing key skills in script and video editing software; and you’ve now got an eye for setting up that perfect shot. So take some time out with your manager to head to a coffee shop or café and discuss how you’re doing.
You’ll have met plenty of professionals already as you work in the entertainment industry; to help you as you grow your own network of contacts, we’ll be searching for the best networking event in Amsterdam. Head along and meet some top executives; in this industry, who you know can be just as important as what you know.
It’s time for your second trip – a market tour around the city! Learn about local culture, history, and cuisine as you explore Amsterdam. Finish off with a visit to the beautiful Old Town to discover a UNESCO World Heritage site.
As you enter week five, your internship is nearing its end, and you’ve been looking back on what you’ve gained. Not only fantastic professional Television, Film, Theater, or Music experience and life-long friends and contacts; but a complete cultural education too! You’ve grown so much over just a few weeks; if you haven’t already, take your 1-to-1 coaching session to reflect on your experience with professional guidance. You can also use this time to plan out your next steps.
Your final trip is a visit to Zaanse Schans. There’s plenty to see and do at this historic sight; from freshly-baked food to museums and souvenirs. You’ll feel as if you’ve travelled back in time!
And before you know it, it’s time for your farewell dinner. Meet up with your community for one last time as you swap contact details and arrange your first group meet-up; then say goodbye. But before you leave Amsterdam, check off as much of the city’s attractions as you can. The Anne Frank Museum is an obvious choice; if you’re looking for something more offbeat, visit the floating De Poezenboot – cat boat – and pet some kittens!

We carefully select our housing partners in Amsterdam to meet our rigorous safety, quality and cleanliness standards. We offer mainly student accommodation or shared apartments. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and other young professionals. It’s a great way to build your own community, especially if you’re traveling from abroad.
You’ll have your own private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding, Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations will vary but you’ll always be placed somewhere with access to public transport. Depending on where your firm is, we try to ensure your commute time is no more than 30-60 minutes.
We’ll confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your Television, Theater, Film, & Music internship begins. This is due to the demand for short term accommodation and ever-changing availability.
