Nerves are normal when diving into a new city. That’s why our amazing local Community Team is on hand to help you settle in and feel at home. You’ll meet a group of new and existing interns who’ve all been in your shoes. That means they’ll know exactly what support to offer whenever you need it. Whether you’re looking for professional advice on your first day, or you want to know the best restaurant in town.
Our local Seoul team offers 24/7 help and support during your program. From advice about your internship to questions about your new city, they’ll have the answer.
When you arrive, settle in; relax in your new digs or get out there and start exploring.
On day two it’s time for your orientation. Here you’ll meet other interns and learn about everything that awaits you on your Seoul internship program.
After the orientation, our welcome lunch or dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!
We host regular opportunities to get together and enjoy some South Korean food and culture. Keep in touch with your fellow interns and get to know South Korean cuisine!
We also organize three engaging day trips; from a visit to a traditional Korean village, to exciting food tours where you can eat your way through an array of amazing food!

There’s nowhere better to kickstart your career in entertainment than in Seoul. You’ll get an unmatched insight into the work culture of this bustling, global city. From unstoppable K-pop to breakout movie hits like Parasite, South Korean culture is becoming more prominent on the world stage.
Famed for its cutting-edge technological marvels as well as its ancient heritage, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere like Seoul. From carefully landscaped parks to stylish boutiques and busy industrial zones, Seoul is a cultural mash-up. As a result, you’ll learn a lot about the entertainment industry here and will find inspiration everywhere.
South Korean workplaces place an emphasis on respect and deference, but they’re friendly too. English is spoken more widely in Seoul than anywhere else in South Korea which makes collaboration easy. While some South Koreans might be a little shy when it comes to speaking the language, they’re always willing to help.

An early appointment is a great way to get the most out of your internship. Or a mid-term meeting is a nice middle ground; you can review your progress so far and plan your next steps.
Otherwise, a late session is a fantastic time to look back on what you’ve learned in your internship; while also looking ahead to your future career.

Get hands-on with an internship in television, theater, film and music. Here are just a few examples of the tasks you may undertake on your internship:

You’ll receive an introduction to your program; learn what awaits you on your internship and what to expect from life in Seoul itself. It’s a great opportunity to prepare for your once-in-a-lifetime adventure and meet some new friends.
As well as encountering lots of new contacts during your internship, you’ll receive an exclusive invite to a Seoul industry networking event. Get out there and introduce yourself – and build up your network of international contacts as you go.
Andong Hahoe village showcases the amazing rich history of Korea. You’ll be immersed in traditional houses, shrines, museums and mask dance. With so much culture on offer, make sure you leave time for food. If weather conditions are unfavorable, fret not, we’ll take you on a temple stay experience for you to fully immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture!
The rich traditions around the way Korean food is prepared, cooked, and eaten means you’ll have plenty to experience. You’ll be enveloped in the stories of this fascinating culture while cooking with our master chef.
The Hanbok is a traditional piece of clothing that beautifully reflects the essence of Korean heritage! Let our local community experts assist you in finding the ideal Hanbok, and even help you achieve an intricate hair-do in full Korean tradition!
Throughout the duration of your program, your Seoul Community Coordinators will be by your side, providing both friendly support and a lot of enjoyable moments.
You’ll be keen to get a sense of what it’s like to work in Seoul; that’s why we’ve put together a snapshot of what your life might be like, based on a typical 6-week film internship in Seoul.
As your plane descends over that amazing Seoul cityscape, you feel butterflies in your stomach; you’re finally here, but what awaits you?
To begin with, meet us at Incheon International Airport and we’ll take you straight to your new accommodation. Relax and get over your jet lag; or if you’d prefer, head straight out there and explore with your new roomies. Then meet us on day two for your comprehensive orientation. We’ll take you through everything you need to know about your upcoming film internship. That evening, save some room for some delicious South Korean food as you introduce yourself to your fellow interns!
You’ll be raring to go, so dive straight into your internship. Introduce yourself to your manager and your team; then finish your first day with a Community Team dinner. Debrief with your new friends, then navigate South Korea’s advanced public transport system home.
You’ll face all sorts of challenges over the course of your internship. So take our skills workshop to equip yourself with the tools you need to get ahead. After you sharpen your existing skills, and learn some new ones, you’ll be excited to apply your knowledge to your film internship.
Lastly, begin looking forward to the trip to Andong. From its 600-year-old houses, to the retelling of the histories of the Ryu family from the Joseon Dynasty who lived in the village, you’ll have a seriously fascinating time.
By now you’re feeling comfortable in the world of entertainment. In addition you’ve nailed the intricacies of South Korean business culture. So why not head out with your manager to discuss your progress over some bulgogi?
Taking care to remain respectful and professional, you’ll also be busy building up your list of contacts. Our local team will be searching for the best networking events; so get out there and make some international connections! After all, this is an essential part of the film and entertainment industry.
Provide support to your production company as they location scout or organize auditions. Or film some behind-the-scenes footage to support production.
Time flies when you’re having fun and it’s already time for your second tour. This time, it’s all about Seoul’s glorious food culture. Try it all, from KFC to samgyeopsal pork strips; and learn a thing or two about the culinary history of South Korea while you do it.
You’ll be fully at home in your Internship now, so it’s a great time to look ahead.
If you’ve not done it already, make sure you fit in your 1-to-1 career coaching session. It’s a chance not many professionals get and lets you explore your dreams and ambitions. You can chat over the things you’re finding a little tougher, and set goals and plans for your future career success.

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Seoul. Mainly co-living houses, student accommodation and shared houses, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
