Here’s an overview of how visas work for all our locations. We will be able to evaluate and confirm your eligibility for your chosen location during your admission interview.

Tokyo

For those that do not hold a Japanese passport:

Internships in Japan are generally classified as a ‘volunteering activity’, therefore foreign interns do not usually need a visa. The visa exemption period for most countries is 90 days, interns looking to take programs that are longer than 90 days will need to leave Japan and re-enter. This is a straightforward process that involves a short flight to Korea (typically return flights start from USD $120). Our team will be able to guide you on how to do this.

Seoul

For those that do not hold a Republic of Korea passport:

Internships in South Korea are generally classified as ‘general training’, therefore foreign interns usually do not need a visa. The visa exemption period for most countries is 90 days. Interns looking to take programs that are longer than 90 will need to leave South Korea and re-enter. This is a straightforward process that involves a short flight to Japan (typically return flights start from USD $120), our teams will be able to guide you on how to do this.

Bangkok

For those that do not hold a Thai passport:

You will need a Non-immigrant Visa ED. In order to be eligible for this visa, you will need to be a current university student (at the time of your Visa application), or a graduate with a bachelor’s degree. You will also need to make sure that there is a Royal Thai Embassy that offers consular services in the country / city that you are located in. You can check the official embassy page for more information. Please note that the cost of this visa is approximately USD $170 (fees are payable directly by you).

London

For those that do not hold a UK passport:

Students in the UK with an existing student visa will likely not need a new visa. We will confirm this during your call with our admissions team.

There are several visa options and we will be able to recommend the best route for you. The most common is the ‘Tier 5 Government Authorized Exchange Visa’ and the total cost of obtaining this visa is approximately USD $1200 (fees are payable directly by you). In order to be eligible for this visa you will need to be a full time degree student, or a recent graduate starting the program within 24 months of completing your studies. If this is not the case, there may be other options so please do get in touch and we can advise further.
*Due to Brexit, from 1 January 2021, the Tier 5 visa also applies to applicants from the EU.

Dublin

For those that do not hold an Irish passport:

If you are from the EU you won’t need a visa. If you are from outside of the EU, most countries do not need a Visa to do an internship in Ireland for up to 90 days. Students in Ireland with an existing student visa do not need another visa.

Berlin

For those that do not hold a German passport:

If you are from the EU you won’t need a visa. If you are from outside of the EU, most countries do not need a Visa to do an internship in Germany for up to 90 days.

Barcelona

For those that do not hold a Spanish passport:

If you are from the EU you won’t need a visa. If you are from outside of the EU, most countries do not need a Visa to do an internship in Spain for up to 90 days.

Paris

For those that do not hold a French passport:

If you are from the EU you won’t need a visa. If you are from outside of the EU, most countries do not need a Visa to do an internship in France.

Stockholm

For those that do not hold a Swedish passport:

If you are from the EU you won’t need a visa. If you are from outside of the EU, most countries do not need a Visa to do an internship in Sweden for up to 90 days.

Amsterdam

For those that do not hold a Dutch passport:

If you are from the EU you won’t need a visa. If you are from outside of the EU, most countries do not need a Visa to do an internship in Netherlands for up to 90 days.

Please do not worry about the visa; our Admissions team have specialist knowledge in all visa types, and will be able to guide you through the process. We will be able to evaluate and confirm your eligibility during your admission interview with us.

New York

For those that do not hold a US passport:

There are several visa options and we will be able to recommend the best route for you. The most common is the J1 Visa and the total cost of this visa is approximately USD $1850 (fees are payable directly by you). In order to be eligible for this visa you will need to be a full time degree student, or a recent graduate starting the program within 12 months of completing your studies.

Toronto

For those that do not hold a Canadian passport:

There are several visa options and we will be able to recommend the best route for you. The best option for non US Citizens is the Working Holiday Visa and the total cost of this visa is approximately USD $190 (fees are payable directly by you). For US Citizens you would need to apply for the Open Work Permit. It’s a two stage process and the total costs are approximately USD $550 (fees are payable directly by you).

San Francisco

For those that do not hold a US passport:

There are several visa options and we will be able to recommend the best route for you. The most common is the J1 Visa and the total cost of this visa is approximately USD $1200 (fees are payable directly by you). In order to be eligible for this visa you will need to be a full time degree student, or a recent graduate starting the program within 12 months of completing your studies.

Sydney

For those that do not hold an Australian or New Zealand passport:

There are several visa options and we will be able to recommend the best route for you. The best option is usually the working holiday visa and the total cost of this visa is approximately AUD $485 (fees are payable directly by you).
